Neem oil on 3 1/2 week flowering (Thrips)

Hi, i made another post i think it will be more visible as it is a specific problem and not strictly a continuation of my first grow experience.

I've got thrips, early stage. I'm in 3 1/2 week of flowerings, i already have some buds with some thricomes.
I've bought neem oil as here i Italy is hard to find other.

I've heard searching online that neem oil can leave a bad taste on the buds, it's true even with 4 week flowering yet to come?

Also, as (as i have read) thrips doesn't feed on buds, could be ok to spray the oil only on leaves and leave buds alone?

Any help would be appreciated, it would suck if i had to ruin my harvest after month of hard work :(

p.s. Indoor here.

ive never had thrips but i think they are in the soil not on the plant. i wouldn't spray anything on the buds that late unless you wanna make bho or run through pga.

It can leave a bad taste to the bud. When I have mites in Flower, I just spot spray leaves with Neem instead of spraying the whole plants. Once I chop, I completely clean out the whole room. Much better to deal with mites in Early VEG.

Also I don't know what Rocketman is talking about. Thrips feed on the leaves.

Ok i am not at week 6, 2 weeks to go.
Apart the fact that i see little trichomes... Those buggers managed to do quite some damage on the plants.

I am not sure now they are thrips as i have seen some little black flies flying around. I heard they could be Fungus Gnats but they don't do damage on the leaves , and i see those little white larvae going on the leaves.

I'll attach some photo.
Sigh, after 4 months all went well and now i am sad :(

Any one who says it leaves a bad taste is mainly pulling it out of their ass.

Healthy plants have the best taste, and misting plants with neem at night makes them healthy

Of course it depends on the purity of your neem and proper emulsification. But misting the plants with neem at night does not decrease potency. To the contrary.

What I would do is begin alternating neem and spinosad applications every few days, also prepare a botanical tea with lavender and rosemary. Or jalapeño Or similar plants. Between the neem, botanicals, and spinosad they don't stand a chance. You also want to make sure the soil health is optimal, environment etc.
