Need suggestion to a camera

Okay...a very good camera...

Just went and watch those camera they are hella expensive but hella cool i would have to save for a good while before i can buy any of theseOkay...a very good camera...

You can get a canon S5 off of ebay for 100 dollars. I just picked up a canon SX20 for under 100 dollars. If you are upgrading from a cell phone this is all you need. I am still using my Canon S2 I bought on ebay a few years ago for about 100 bucks.
If you are looking for the best point and shoot for the value - you should look into a Canon S100 for a slightly older / cheaper model - or the newer s110 or 120.
All of those are excellent cameras for the money.

Well, the camera is only the tool used by the photographer...you can use the most expensive camera and still take crap shots.
For example - these pics were taken with a Nikon S3000, and it is a step below the Canon point -n- shoots I suggested:
So it really just depends on how patient you are to get the right pic. These are certainly not what I'd consider "professional" and they could be A LOT better - but for the under $300 I paid for the camera...

All that being beside the point and not really answering your question - I think with the budget you have, a Nikon D7100 would be a great option.

No those pics help alot and I am very thankful of you advice and suggestions you made if the point and shot take better pics than that camera well I'm definitely sold you say those are not professional but compare to my standards it's Damm excellent

That shows the point. Those pics are way better than the pics I have taken with a Canon Rebel T3 DSLR.
BH Photo in New York has some decent prices, whatever you decide to get.
The D7100 is certainly capable of taking MUCH better pictures - it's simply better hardware.
The S3000 maxes out pretty much with what you see there...I can't get much better shots with it.
The Canon s100, s110, s120 series, are better cameras than the Nikon S3000 simply because it has a larger CMOS sensor and lower F-stop...which translates to clearer pictures over a wider focal range...
But the D7100 is LEAGUES above those cameras without question. Some time spent with such a camera and you can easily take professional quality images.
It really does come down to the skill of the person using the equipment though. Photography, like anything else, takes some time to learn and master - but I've been shooting photos for nearly 20 years - just something I really enjoy...so educated myself about.
If you have the budget and don't mind spending the money - go withe D7100. If you are just looking for a camera to take some nice pics to post online, then there really is no reason to spend the extra $900...UNLESS - you're going to become a photo snob, and like myself, you'll quickly find flaws and a lack of satisfaction with the limitations of a point -n- shoot.
One day, I'll get a nice DSLR - they are just out of my price range...

There are a lot more photography buffs on ICm - not sure why they haven't chimed in. Try to get a few more opinions before you just go and spend your hard earned money.

I'm new to icmag so I haven't really search but I will try to find the thread about camera and photography and see I can learn a Lil bit more
