Need some soil advice from the veterans on here

Getting reading to up pot my little ladies into 5 gallon smart pots which is what they will be finishing in. I'm transitoning out of the solo cups. I have them in just happy frog right now. I have some sunshine #4 and wanted to know if mixing that with more happy frog would be a nice medium to finish out the rest of the veg and flower cycle. If not, what would be a better alternative? Thank you for your comments and advice?

Add some Perlite in there too. I am using Happy Frog as well. Ocean Forest from Fox Farms is also popular.

Good luck!

I also suggest adding Dolomite Lime, as IME FF soils lack enough of it. If you're looking for a hot soil to mix with Happy Frog, go with Ocean Forest as said above. 50/50 mix is good for flower (you'll still feed PK at the start and then NPK).

Add perilite, bone meal, and Epsom salts to the sunshine and happy frog and you will have a nice mix!

I'd probably take this advice ^^^
and for sure add 1 cup dolomite lime per 20 gallons of sunshine 4 , regardless of anything else you add.
Indoors I grow in just sunshine 4 fortified with dolomite lime (plus food of course), never used happy frog or anything else tho I do use sunshine 4 as a base for my outdoor organic stuff.
but I always add dolomite to sunshine 4. helps provide some minerals and PH buffering.

Add lime for sure if not you will likly regreat it . been there and it sucked. Perilite as well for some air . you will likely need some kind of amendment aswell depending on if your going to use a liquid fert.

ya keep it simple bro. Just mix the sunshine and the happy frog together, its an awesome mix. Top dress as you go with happy frog dry nutes and use Fox Farm Big Bloom once ever other week tell 2 weeks before harvest and you'll be golden. The sunshine has enough Ca and Mg to get you started right. No need to make a super soil, when Happy frog is a super soil along with the addition of extra Ca and Mg from the dolomite in the Sunshine. You just keep it simple bro and you'll reap the benefits. Learn to make super soil in small batches with your old 5 gallon pots that you harvest in Rubbermaid totes . experiment one bucket at a time testing your super soil mixes as you go. There is nothing wrong with getting a good start with bagged soil, at least you'll have something to compare future results to if you do go the route of composting soil.

also try dusting the sides and bottoms of your buckets with dry nutes after a little spray or painting on of molasses. This ignites the microheard and gives the roots something to go get.
