Need some serious CB assistance!

Hey all - I have come to the conclusion I am either missing a vital step or this is a huge conspiracy set up by 'the man' to get me to waste my good bud.

Last attempt: Brownies (recipe called for 1/2c of oil, I used 2/3c cannabutter)
I ate 3 HUGE brownies and felt very very little.


I made the cannabutter with 14g of KICK ASS bud, 10g of trim in 4 sticks of butter using a double boiler.

I got the water boiling, put on the bowl, added the butter until it melted, added the bud and let it cook for 4hrs, stirring occasionally.

I took the temp and the butter was at 175F for most of the time. The butter actually will no longer solidify when it's cooled - it's like Gae, or oil... I then strained through cheese cloth and made brownies.


SO - I can smoke a single bowl of these buds and get blazed. The butter SHOULD be way stronger than it is. Anyone spot anything obvious that I fucked up here?

What temp did you bake them at?

Next time just use the oil and follow the directions in the brownie thread.

My friend doesn't react to edibles ever, God knows I've used alot of stash trying lol.
If you really want to test your reaction to edibles go lowteck to figure out your dose.
Make Firecrackers (check forum for thread), you can make about 4-6 pilled high with kief or bud, if those don't fuck you up give up and stick to toking :joint:

i'm with you, i've only gotten noticeable effects a handful of times. even eating space cake at a coffeeshop and being warned not to eat another peice... i still felt nothing :p

i have had great success with genk's cannibrex though. i think it's the oil he uses has a better absorption rate than the budder i've had in the past.
 
175F is not high enough to initiate a thorough transfer of cannabinoids.

THC's boiling point is 314F.

Crank it up, but keep a close eye on it so it doesn't burn.

Might be easier to forgo the double boiler and just toss the butter and herb in water at a rolling boil. It will keep it moving, prevent burning, and you can filter through cheesecloth like normal, put in a plastic beercup/other receptacle to solidify in the fridge. Poke a hole in the bottom to drain the water and you're good to go.

Tried, tested, and totally toasty.

try eating your goodies on an empty stomach. If you don't feel anything then, send the rest of your goods to me and get a CB receptor transplant!

What kind of butter did you use?

The first time I made edibles, I used regular salter butter sticks, 2 sticks per ounce of shwag (dark times). Those things lit me up, I remember having impaired vision, all-around blurry conscience, leading to myself waking up at 5am, sitting upright on my couch in a pile of sweat (no exaggeration).

Since it worked out so well with my shwag buds, I decided to due a small run cooked the same way with some commercial kind bud that came around, in a 2 stick/1 ounce batch. This time i accidentely grabbed some "spreadable" or "soft" butter sticks, and decided to carry on as planned. Apparently, they had much less saturated fat than the normal butter, and I didnt consider the indifference.

Long story short, they were terrible as far as effectiveness goes, taste was great. But yeah, $250 down the drain for some weak ass cookies.

Now I know, right? :joint:

Empty stomach is very important. I find indica is less of a buzz when eaten sativas blow your tits off though, feels like being drunk sometimes.

Ok... SO now I'm pissed.

I made a couple of those firecrackers using bud from a SER Chronic harvest...from the jar, into a grinder and on to the peanut butter. I basically loaded as much bud as would fit in between 2 crackers with a shitload of peanut butter.

Cooked for 20mins at 320.

Ate both as soon as they cooled down.

Empty stomach... just drank a LOT of soda to wash it down.

2hrs later.

Nada gentlemen!

How is this fucking possible? I just put more bud than I smoke in a single day (and I smoke a LOT) on 2 fucking crackers and didnt even feel a light buzz. I just dont get it... I mean these nugs are fuckin' sticky and white.... just confusing me.

I really keep hoping I'm missing something basic and easy...

I have to suggest making ISO oil and then dissolving the oil into butter and using that to cook with.
