Hey, I have a big problem with my grow. No one really knows what the problem is.
I kind of needed someone that actually knew what they were talking
about.
The plants most affected are the ones in the middle.
There are two 1000 watt mh bulbs on light movers providing the light.

Here are a few pics of my plants:

I'm not really a pro as such but the way the leaf seems to curl as its eaten on one side looks a bit like TMV tobacco mosaic virus? I think search on here see if the pics match :)

you need to check your heat levels ...try adding a couple rotating fans and have those lights atleast a metre or higher above those plants ... 1000w x2 is alot of heat being put out and you may not have enough ventilation and the temps are too high and possibly globes are to close to your plants.

only other thing I have see make plants look like that was massive ph fluctuation or over fertilizing ..

so back off on the nutirents and only give them once a week ...

thanks guys... the ph is usually around 6.0 - 6.4 max so i don't think its that.
also... i already have 4 rotating fans in the room... the temperature is around 72-78 at max.
i think it might be light bleeching... where theres too much light for the plants...
i don't really know about tobacco mosaic virus.. how does it get there and how do i get rid of it... i read it has to be sanitary.. and the room is almost sterile... so I dont know..
and for the nutes, they're at 25% and 350 ppm.

also the humidity low high recorded at 21 and 39... im thinking with the low humidity and closeness of the light to the plants it caused a mini drought... causing the top of plants to dry up and get heat stressed.
this wouldnt cause over fert bcuz with the low humidity the plants use more water then nutes...
anyone have any other ideas?
Hey I seen your previous posts and its clear you know what your
talking about. I was hoping you can help me with my problem.
I have been growing and my plants started looking really bad in veg.
I closely examined them for pests and couldn't find any.
I also looked at the roots and some started turning light brown.
I know that root rot may be the problem but it definately can't do
such damage as my plants are looking.
please check out my forum and let me know if you can help...
Root rot is causing just about every problem you are seeing.

Roots are the heart of your plant, you take that away and you will see anything go wrong with a plant that can happen to it.

First get rid of the root rot and go from there, without good healthy roots you won't fix any problem that the rot is causing.

You will have to sterilize all buckets hoses and pumps anything water came in contact with.....

hot water and h202 mixed.

You have access to a hydro shop? you need to get some sm90 and use that.

Also can you please fill out these questions below, help solve your problem way better so we can find out what was the cause of your root rot, most likely temps of the water, but there is other things that can as well....

HYDROPONICS/Aero Ponics/Coco/Soiless/

How long has this problem been going on?
Are you growing in a PVC grow tent? (example: Hydrohut or any other non brand tents)
What system are you running? (DWC? Ebb flow? Aero? Water Farm? Flood Tables? and so on...)
What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
How long have they been in there mixture they are in now?(coco, soiless etc..)
How tall are the plants?
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using?
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.)
What is the Water temperature?
What color are your roots? White? Brown? Are your roots slimy?
What Nutrient's are you using?(If growing soiless)
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding? (If using soiless)
How often are you giving nutrients? (If using soiless)
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using?
What is the pH of the "Tank"?
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?
When was your last watering?
What is your water temps?
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional)
How often do you clean your system: example: Flush out water replace with clean water and nutrients?
What size bulb are you using?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor(Relative Humidity)?
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When?
Are plant's infected with pest's

Ah rot :)

TMV can come with infected cuts or be passed by pests or a grower contaminating cuts by using a non sterlile blade that's touched infected plants. It causes a one sided leaf curl most notably where one side of the leaf dies and the other side curls towards to dead side and a mosaic like colour loss. Scares me! I thought I had it once but was something else :)

yeah i started using sm 90.. but i dont know exactly what it does..
as for the questions..
How long has this problem been going on? 2 weeks
Are you growing in a PVC grow tent? (example: Hydrohut or any other non brand tents)no
What system are you running? (DWC? Ebb flow? Aero? Water Farm? Flood Tables? and so on...)dwc
What STRAIN are you growing?ole
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?)clone
What is the age of your plants?3 weeks
How long have they been in there mixture they are in now?(coco, soiless etc..)3 weeks
How tall are the plants?1 foot - 1 nd a half foot
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? veg
What Technique are you using?top feed
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.)hydroton
What is the Water temperature?70, one day went to 82 because i accidently turned the a/c off
What color are your roots? White? Brown? Are your roots slimy?light brown and white
What Nutrient's are you using?(If growing soiless)25% if feeding schedual
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding? (If using soiless)24/7 the plants have no medium (started from ez cloner... roots went straight into hydroton)
How often are you giving nutrients? (If using soiless)24/7, new nutes every week
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using?350 ppm
What is the pH of the "Tank"?5.8-6.4(highest)
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?yes
When was your last watering?
What is your water temps?70 (went to 80 one for one day)
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional)last week
How often do you clean your system: example: Flush out water replace with clean water and nutrients?never flush.... completely change with new nutes every week
