Need some information (heeelp)

Hello.

I'm doing my first grow, it's been going well, and I'm 3 1/2 weeks into flowering.
When I came home tonight I noticed the lights were still on, and the timer was "off" (cheap digital timer)
So that resulted in 16 hours of light.

How screwed am I?
Is it enough that I give them 12 hours of darkness, and just change the timer to 10pm to 10am instead of 6pm to 6am?
That also mean I have to change the irrigation cycle, doing ebb&flow.

Will this work, of will it cause serious stress?

don't change your cycle, just fix the timer settings
1 episode probably won't hurt, but if you shift the light/dark schedule, that may hurt
i got that advice from some kind grower, and it's served me well so far

So I should just give them 8 hours of dark now and cross my fingers?
Hope it works out, gonna buy a new timer tomorrow.

Thanks for quick replies :)

Yeah, don't change your cycle. If it was one time you should be fine. Ongoing would be another issue i.e. return to veg state. But just try to keep everything as stable as possible. Timers fail as does pretty much every piece of grow equipment. So check everything often.

I did about 8 months of research before I started this, but however, not prepared to solve this problem alone.
Had a real bad feeling when I saw the light still on. :(

just a quick observation on timers, i use the cheap analog timers, never had a problem
digital seem more likely to do something strange, just my 2 cents

And in the future if a mistake is made with the light cycle while in flower..it is better if you make it in the part of the light cycle with the lights off.
