Need some help

Hello, I have been having problems with my soil. I was using Mircle Grow organic but it kind of sucks. I had the plants turn yellow while they were just starting out. They did not get very big and turned yellow and stopped growing.

What soil do all of you prefer? Could you give me a little help I don´t want to ruin all of the free genetics I got from my brother......he gets real good stuff and I got them for free.

Please help. I live in Northwest Missouri if that helps you help me find a good soil.
