The problem is this, when I check the ph comming out, it's always at 6.7. I feed them with the ph at 5.5, so what's the deal? And can I jus add some ph down to get it down?

Runoff isn't the way to check your pH from what I read
You should fill a cup with medium and distilled or RO water and check the pH of that water after 15 minutes or so for accuracy.

Seems to me when the medium and roots absorb nutrients, the removal of those nutrients in the runoff should alter the pH. That might be especially true for the more acidic fertilizers. Just a guess.. Please correct me or add to this if you can.

And yeah you can use pH down ofc but you might be doing more harm than good...how do the plants look?

lol yeah don't add it directly

Dubwise, do you have any ideas for me on why my run off is so high? Is this how I should be doing my ph checks? I really would like to know what's up with my ladies,it's been 3 weeks now and only jus a little bit of growth. I will try to post some pix.jus in case I can't, 1 is curling down at the top the other is turning pale yellow color with boat shaped leaves, only at the top also.

Hi Devient...
You may not like this but...
I do just like Hempy suggests and never check ph and ppm and I have never had a problem. One of the big advantages of a Hempy bucket (according to Hempy) is it's simplicity. So you could just put your meter away, relax and see how the plant does.

Ok eviltwin but in fact my ladies are looking like they are having some ph issues, like clawing on 1, and other is pale green with leaves canoeing up like a boat, the thing is that it's only at the top of the plants. Doesn't that sound like a ph issue?

Ph issues often manifest as nute deficiencies by blocking absorption. So it's really hard to say. What medium do you have in the Hempys? And is your water really hard?

I'm using rockwool cubes, 3 parts perlite and 1 part vermiculite. My tap is 7.5ph and around 80 ppm(Hanna scale 0.5). My tap has been ok so far,any ideas? I'm still trying to get pix up, I'm on a new iPhone it's crazy as he'll to figure 1 of these things out. I hope someone can give some advice, they just turned 72 days old today and only 11" tall.

Hey there deviant...hope I can help you some.... I've been running 100% perlite for about two years now with much success.
I dont fuck around with that vermiculite at all so I cant help you there. so let me ask you a couple of questions if thats ok with you.

what size are your buckets?
what size are your plants?
How often are you watering?
What nutrients are you using?

Hey man sorry about last night.. I was needed elsewhere. lol.

Ok so let me get this straight... your plants are only 11 inches tall and are 72 days in veg???
Or are they 72 days in bloom? And are you feeding them the bloom nutes all through veg as well?

For me bro... I start all my plants in kegger cups.. 100% perlite. I wait til the plant obviously need to be up-potted then I x-plant to a 2 gal hempy pot. I continue to veg for a couple more weeks before I flip. I like my plants to be anywhere between 24-30 inches tall when finished. i flower under a single 600 and sog 16 plants at a time. I usually pull somewhere around a 3/4 an elbow each run. ... I dont find that being too bad.

Lets see if we can figure out your prob tho

Yes they now are 73 days in veg while using nova bloom all the way through grow. I only jis swithched them out from a dwc setup, 3 weeks ago, they do seem to be doin better but not great. The bottoms are growin decent but the rest is still slow going. I'm still confused on how much to be feeding them too, any help there also.

they should have been monsters vegging in dwc for so long.
What's up with the RW cubes? P/V just lik hempy says works best. Or straight perlite.
Or coco and perlite.

Yes.
top leaves will show immobile elements - boron, calcium, copper, iron, manganese and sulfur.
Pale leaves could be iron or mang, they show first at high pH.
I don't get why your pH is buffering up. If it was soil, i'd think ok you got excess calcium in your soil.

try checking the pH of runoff, but wait an hour after adding water. Then tip the bucket and catch and check the runoff. Maybe even check it the next day. Something tells me that they won't have used very much water at all, and you can see what's happening more clearly?:pumpkin:

One thought on the ph issue...
Did you pre-soak and prepare the rockwool. If that's not done, then ph can get out of wack.
