Well heres the story, ive got 11 clones and 5 seedlings and I put them outside during the day and inside this room at night mainly the reason for putting them in light at night is to grow them a bit quicker and stop early flowering. Well back to the point of the lighting, I am using a long (I dont know how long) fluorescent cool light about 140 - 200 cm away from the light. I read that fluorescent decreases each foot ect but this is mainly to keep them from flowering and to grow faster :/ so any help would be great.

thanks :badday: :badday: :badday:

CTC has them for 14.00cnd. they even come with chains & a bulb. Place your plants like pretty maidens in a row & get the lamp within inches of those sprouts. If you continue you may wake up to some very stretch & fallen over uh um plants. A little effort will go a long way.

When they're tiny & they stretch the stems will not be strong enough to support their leaves & fall over. I'm just going to finish with if it's worth doing it's worth doing right. It's really up to you.

Yes, IME stretching is generally not a good thing. I run two 2' T5 fixtures and they sit 2-4" above my plants. I still get stretching sometime.

I'd say that your lights are a bit too far from your plants but since you have them outside during the day it may not make them stretch that much. I'm not 100% on this so you may want to listen to more experienced growers.

Are you planning on flowering outside?

Not only is your light too far away, but you need more. If you can afford it, how about getting a shop fixture type thing and filling it with cool white bulbs. Especially at this stage of your grow, vegetative, it would really be good.

and you don't want a lot of stretching because it'll cause long distances between internodes (where the branches meet the main stem) and that'll mean smaller buds (when you get to that stage!)

Are you planning on flowering inside? you can do that, too, with flourescents, but they have to have high enough wattage and be warm white, not the cool or daylight spectrum.

Looks like you're off to a pretty good start, but def get more lights and put them closer.

haha ok well they get full sun outside during day and i plan to flower them outdoors. Any ideas on how i can lower the light?. By the way those plants are early misty (indica) clones and thai sativa seedlings.

Thanks for the help
