What's going on everyone. I'm a first time grower new to the site. Wondering if I could get some advice. I measured my runoff and got an e.c. of 5.0 my ppm was 3800 and ph 6.4. I have no clue what's going on. Here's all my variables 1. Outdoor grow
Ro water
white widow fem seed ilgm
It's fem photo
Plant is 8 weeks from germination
soil is 50% happy frog 20%coco 10%ocean 10%hydroton
Black 7gal fabric pots
Ph and tds of source water is 0
I'm feeding with ff trio plus calmg recharge i feed half of recommended dosage. Ph at 6.3ish and ppm around 800 at this stage.
Temps in the day have been in the 90's and upper 70's at night.
Thanks for any help .

Doesnt look like anything is wrong with them. I believe the ff soil is supposed to be amended already? That could be why your numbers are so high.

I wouldn't worry about it until your plant starts fucking up. Or u could add more plain water feedings to your schedule.

Thank for the link Troutman. I flushed with straight ro water. Will flush one more time to shake up the ec. Thanks for the help everyone!!!

I run in the high 3500 to 3900 ppm and its normal for a heavy organic soil because its a different type EC. Also, I just give my organic grows pure water without any cal mag because it has lime in it. However, If its a soilless media like Pro-mix or Sunshine the normal ppm is around 1200 to 1300 ppm. IF you flush your soil you'll just wash all the good stuff away. That plant was ok as far as I can see, but I can't see to good either. I never flush ever!😎

An inorganic salt is one that does not contain C-H bonds as opposed to an organic salt that contains C-H bonds. Its not the same EC as bottle nutrients, Its a different type EC, but can still be helpful. When you mix the bottle nutrients and organics together, the EC can be tricky to monitor. 😎

The highest EC I've seen was in the 4000+ ppm range. When one has an organic mix the plant will make ajustments to suit its own needs. If you use acidic water, you will release a large amout of nutrients, and cause problems, with toxicity. That's why its recommended to use pure water in the low 6s to minimize nutrient solution. Organic mixes are boosted by the microbe population and make nutrients availble as needed. If a seed is planted in a high EC it will manage its self just fine, if the watering is done correctly. The problem with high EC mixes, is when the substrate, is over watered with the wrong water, it can harm the plant. The trick with high EC mixes is water managment. 😎
