i'm trying to decide what type of fan or fans i need for my grow. box is 30"WX36"HX20"D (about 12cubic ft). will have 1 150W HPS hood and a few CFL in small paint light reflectors clamped to scrog framing. i want to just probably put in 2 6" intake holes with elbows, and have 2 quiet exhaust fans. i was looking at plug and play 105cfm 4" fans. would these be ok/quiet/sufficient...? i cannot have loud fans. i want to keep this box simple yet effective, with plug in fans. any help/suggestions appreciated. :joint:

here's the 2 fans i'm looking at. 1st is a 4" duct panasonic whisperline 120cfm. could get on ebay for $120. 120cfm. very quiet:

next for only $20, are these 4" axial 105cfm fans by dayton:

bid difference in price. what's best, 1 panasonic or 1 or 2 significantly cheaper axial plug in fans? i would like to use the 2 axials. that would give me 210cfm in a 12cbic ft grow box.... :joint:

My space is 22 x 29 x 54 inches. When I ran a 150HPS I made due with a single 76 cfm axial fan (I thought it was a 120 but turns out that was mm not cfm) but, I wasn't using a scrubber or much ducting to speak of.

so u think if i use 1 150W HPS and 4 24W or close CFL, will be ok with 1 4" 105cfm axial fan...? i would love if that would work. $20 each...

i will be running whichever fan i use for exhaust, tied into my clothes dryer vent line. probably about a 2' section from box, tied into dryer vent line, then directly up about 4-5' duct to outside vent....
my box is also about 2' shorter than yours, only 36"...don't know what to do.... :puppydoge :joint:

The axials will be enough for cooling the box, however scrubbers and ducting will reduce their efficiency. Dryer vents are notorious for collecting lint which would strain the fans even more. Consider cleaning them or having it done professionally. Not a bad idea whether it connects to your grow or not.
