I don't want to loose any meds to rain this year, so im thinking of building huge rain protection frames and doing 6 ml painter plastic just need ideas and pictures of other people's rain shelters thanks In advance
Any structure will do, you could use 2x4 wood beams, pvc pipe, or a carport to frame it. Then you just go to home depot and buy a big roll of the opaque painters plastic and wrap it in that. Attach it with zip ties, twisted wire, or if you use a would frame then you could even staple it on. Make a frame for a door on both ends so you can open them up to get a cross breeze when it isn't raining or it will get humid in there and maybe make you crops more likely to mold instead of less likely. Also you need to put a fan in there to keep the air moving nicely. What are the dimensions of the area? How tall are your plants? If it is huge tahn a carport might work best since wood is expensive. Our carport came from costco and was about $200. It is 10x20 feet.
You can purchase a large gazebo and replace the canvas with plastic tarp for a quick and easy rain shield.
But, If there's chance of rippers, I'd use a locking dog kennel and polycarbonate roof as a more permanent solution.
Something like this.
Got this and the IR cameras when I had a theft.
Added a motion detector on a car alarm and have had no further attempts.
The Poly filters out UV-c and I get more frost at harvest than on uncovered plants.
