need help with ventilation for cabinet

What size lamp? With a 250 CMH, I'm using a 76 cfm axial in a 22x29x54 inch freezer. But, I'm growing in a cool/cold garage with a home made OdorSock.

Seen this? fan-intake calculator

I'm planning to use 20 23watt soft white CFL bulbs. It's a flowering cabinet and I'm gonna do the drbudgreengenes method. Temps in the room are 69-74. I wouldn't want it to get above 80 inside the cabinet.

No chance, but I love the fan maker. I have the TD150 6 inch cooling a 400 watt hps in a closet much larger than your grow space and it's keeping temps stable with outside cab temps being ~70, But you want shove 460 watts in a smaller space with 1/3 the ventilation. Maybe it could cool ~6-8 of those bulbs in that space.

But cfls run cooler than hps right. I have another cabinet that is about the same size maybe a little smaller and I do 6 42w cfls (252w) with a 100cfm pc fan and diy carbon scrubber over it. Temps in the cab are within 10 degrees of the room with lights on.
 
that will cool your cab fine im planin on getting a larger one for my new cab i have a 4" squrle cage 100cfm cooling a 3'x2'x3' with 10 42w cfls it keeps the bulbs so cool you can hold them and the box is about 1 degrees below room temp thats cuz the air exchange inside the box is 5.5 times a min its a lil over done i know but its nice cuz it filters all the air in my room 10 times a hour nice and clean air

I don't know, I figured 20 of those bulbs would have a decent heat output even more than my hps, but maybe I'm mistaken. Right now, my TD-150 is on high and I have tons of airflow and it's quieter than the HPS ballast itself. My outake is 4x10" and intake is 5-1/2"x10". I'm thinking I will probably add another 200 watts in supplemental CFLs once I start flowering, so you could very well be right about having adequate air flow in the small space.
 
i can put my hands on my bulbs and hold then wile there runing and my hands never burn most the bulbs feel about room temp i have a couple that run a lil warmer but not much the lil bulbs dont put out much heat i have 5 3" passive intakes and a 100cfm 4" squirrle cage fan

they will have 460w useing 20 23w cfls i have 10 42w cfls runing 420w i dont think there will be much of a heat diff i beleave they will have more heat then me the td-100 is a 101/97 cfm fan so with 8.5 cubic feet of air you will have about 11 air exchanges per min so that will draw the heat out very fast with the osolationg fans in the right spot the bulbs will be cool to the touch depending on the heat output of the brand of bulb they have

twice as much in as you have out

I took some pics of my cab. Just using it to reveg some plants right now.

This is the exhaust. The hole is 4.7 inches. Can I get a wallmount flange or something like this http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=WMF606 but maybe a four inch version to fit in that space?



Another problem. The height of the cab is only 25 inches. The canfan is 18 inches long and the td-100 is 9 so I can't have them both vertical and inline with the exhaust hole. Would it work if I had the fan coming straight down (inline with exhaust hole), wide elbow ducting, and then diagonally mount the canfilter?

Here is the deal.

I'm not sure on the exact specs, but take this trend into consideration.

That fan does 101/97 CFM at a certain static pressure. At .2 static pressure it only be 80cfm...at .4, 50cfms.

I believe 94cfm is a MAX cfm it will effectively scrub order so you are in no danger of having too much flow as the 2600 should put out around .2 static pressure.

You need to exchange air around 5 times a minute so cubic ft divided by cfm 100 = times per minute. So you will see you will be fine, but the two your missing two key important details.

What are the details on your lighting and what is your room temperature?

They are still 20-30 bucks at HD unfortunately. Your other option is to power drill a hole and cut with a jig saw.

Hey thanks for clearing that up. For lighting I've got 20 sockets mounted to the ceiling. I'm planning on using 20 23w CFLs (460w) and doing a Dr Bud style perpetual sog. Temps in the room vary from 64-74.

Use 55w PL-L CFLs.




They're MUCH more efficient than using a lamp that's a bunch of coiled tube. This is flat. Straight out and back. Wicked!

You'll also have to get ballasts. (I'm getting the ones that run 2 lamps)

The bulbs are 22-24 inches long including the base so you'll be able to run a whole lot of them if you want. 2 55w lamps will probably be sufficient for you.
You won't need nearly as many watts.

I'm ordering 2 lamps here shortly for a space that's a bit smaller than what you're running. There's a couple threads around here on the PL-L lamps ;)
(I'm working on documenting what I do so there will be more folks that use them in the future. The coiled thingies are such a waste of electricity.)

*** Edit *** I see now that you've already installed the sockets and purchased your bulbs. Oh well. :)
