need help with picking out new light

need help with picking out new light,i am looking at this light[ http://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=3&FGNumber=E-HS4H40QZ]please post opoins.first it will be for a closet that is 3ft4inch by 3ft 4inches and 5ft10inches high,i can take out top self and add a foot to the hight.how many amps does a 400 watt hps. use and how much more heat would it create then a 150hps or2 150hps?thanks for any help,i am verry gratefull and have a buzzed day

A 400w draws about 3.5 amps and produces about 1600btu's of heat...whereas a 150 produces around 600btu's.

I’ve just started growing in a spare wardrobe and was concerned about heat issues, and the fact that I might have t go away for maybe up to a week, I didn’t want to be worrying about anything catching fire .I looked up the forums about lights and came across theses Envirolites, they are low energy (cheap to run)bulbs made specially for indoor growing. They are not too expensive and they come in blue (for veg) and red (for flowering). They come in 2 sizes 125w and 200w.im putting a link below where I found after extensive searching. I have a 125w & a 200w blue waiting on red ones still but Im in no hurry just yet. Have a look at my set up it might give you some ideas, but anyway I’ve read some good things about the Enviro’s (also another 1 is Eco light same lights just different manufactures).

If your 150w is pulling 3.0 amps, then you either have a REALLY inefficient ballast or a wiring problem....might wanna check that out. It should be pulling a hair under or right around 2 amps @ 120v.

that was the number[3amps] that e-conolights gave me for the 150 when i called them to check on buying them last year.thanks any opoin of the light,please post,i have never seen anyone with that setup so i want to make sure before i get one and have a buzzed day

www.hidhut.com has 400w digitals for $99. I have 4 of their 600s and they work great. I still can't believe the price. I think I am going to be accused of working for them because I have mentioned the site a few times. But damn it is such a good deal I have to let people know.
