Need help with first attempt at cooking my stash!

I seem to be having some health related problems when I smoke, chest pains not sure what it is though. Basically it just started and I've been a almost every day smoker for about 8 years. Been to the doc, and all seems fine test wise, but when I smoke and cough sometimes it kicks in and takes a while to go away. Going through some stressful times now and really could use a edible way to get the effects I want. I'm thinking about making some cannabutter and then making either some cookies or some muffins that way I can steer clear of the smokeable for a bit to let things get better hopefully. I have the bud and the cheese cloth all set to go. So I need some tips, how much mj, how many sticks of butter and which of the cannabutter threads is the easiest to follow? Was thinking of trying it with 1 ounce only so the consensus seems two sticks of butter may do me good, any input on this? The IC recipes don't seem to have what I'm looking for so maybe I'll just make a normal muffin batter and use the cannabutter in that. Any recipes that you all might be able to recommend. Without IC, i'd be waiting it out highless and damn shit has me stressing already...Thanks in advance.

Got it simmering as I type this. Hoping for some fun muffins later tonight but we'll see. 1/2 ounce and 2 sticks o butter, hopefully it does the trick.

Edit, tollhouse cookies sounded better so that the route I'm going, wish me luck fellow stoners. Green butter for all....

Ended up making a half batch of cookies, got about 20 cookies to nibble on for the next week or so. Should be a trip, if it goes well maybe a regular thing for me to do.

I should of water cured the bud though as the cookies have a bit of a spinach after taste but nothing too bad, still taste like a cookie.

You can also use clarified butter which is known to be better because of the higher percentage of fat to have the THC bond to in the cooking process. It's 1 oz to 1 stick of butter. You can scale it up and down as you need.

I personally use the slow cooker (crockpot) method. For small amounts I use a ceramic coffee mug, but you might want to consider something bigger. The general idea is you don't want it to my horizontally thin, you want it to be deep so it doesn't burn.

Turn crockpot on low.
Start melting the butter.
Very finely grind buds with seeds/stems removed as much as possible.
When butter is melted mix herb in.
If there is a considerable amount of bud expose don the top add some more butter as needed. Just enough to surround all the herb.
Supposedly you can let it go for anywhere between 2 to 4 hours, but I myself like to go for the full 4.

Once done, strain through a cheesecloth. I myself use a coffee filter with good results.
You can either just go ahead and mix it while melted into some peanut butter and munch away. Or you can store it in the fridge to harden and use it in whatever recipe.

consiter sifting with screen printing frames and just adding keif to the recipy, fatty butter does nothing for someone who hasto eatright.
i sift my fresh trim on 140micron screen with a wood frame by hand (with latex gloves as they brush off and resist sticking to the kiff) one could break the bud down to the stem and sift by hand to extract the resins if the bud was dry enough, we make lots of things from biscuts to muffins and ginger snaps simply by replaceing say a 1/4 cup flower with 1/4 hash. our ginjer snap recipy calls for 2 1/4 cups flower and we add 2 cups of flower and 1/4cup(roughly a half ounce of kiff) that makes 3-4 dosen but that all depends on how big we want each cookie -we aim at a quarter gram of medicen per searving or even half if required :bashhead:

the rule is to bake at 350 allways ,use only recipes that abide by that. i have never mixed with butter or oil even my brownies are full of sticky ganja leaf ground well enough not to see but it just goes right in their and mixed till you cant see the green.

All cooking of herb begins with deoxycarbolation, heating the dry material to 250-325 for 10 minutes will work, I do 325, it makes a lot of weed smell, not stealthy. This increases potency by up to double, no shit.
