Hello Everyone and thank you in advance for any help and suggestions given. Below is a picture of how my room is currently setup. It's 11 x 11 x 9ft ceilings, 3k setup running co2 enrichment. Pushing and pulling air through hoods, 12,000 Btu AC.

This is my second attempt at growing and I have been very fortunate and blessed to of had two successful grows . But the biggest stress has been fighting the elements that come with having an indoor grow room. Oh and its located on the 2nd floor of my house because it was the only location that was optimal.

Biggest problem over the summer is the "heat" now its the "winter". The walls are stucco with wood slats behind it and no insulation. Trying to hang my lights was a pain because its so brittle as to why you see black tape spots lol. My second issue is maybe figuring out a better way to hang/move my lights. I was searching the forum on ideas on how to build a rail or something from a local Home depot to simplify the ease but haven't found anything yet.

Now what do you guys recommend I do in regards to insulation or what I could possibly do with my lights? Thanks again :canabis:

once you fire up the 3k , heating shouldnt be an issue
as for plaster, its a better insulator than drywall you dont need insulation really

light movers are cheap on ebay

Well right now I wouldn't have much of a problem with heat except when lights are off. But overall I would like to have a stable room temperature without other issues interfering with it, because over the summer it gets stupid hot. I was just checking out the vert section and might change everything up, but idk yet though ha ha.

you still have studs with plaster just as you do with drywall. you should be hanging any loads there, not on the plaster.

plaster is shit. they used to reinforce it with horse hair and good quantities of cement, but it varies regionally.

if you are asking these sorts of questions, there is nothing you can do outside of building a room within this room... with regards to your insulation problem.

"helped" demo a plaster ceiling with my dad when i was like 11... all i really remember was we had a dumpster under the m.bed window. i think the lathe was chopped out with a drywall hammer, scooped up in a shovel and thrown out the window into the dumpster.
HUGE mess. huge PITA. not an everyday DIY type of job if you get me.

what sort of siding do you have? might be able to work in a whole house insulation job by fake denspacking with a cellulose blower, but its not easy either.

My house is brick and in regards to how my lights are hanging, everything is attached to the cross supports. I guess what it looks like I will have to do is use the 4x8 insulation wall for my room. I don't want to go crazy into a demo, maybe something I can take down easily after etc.

i dont blame you for not wanting to demo. its a nightmare... im in the middle of a m.bath renovation at my place , and ive generated like 11 yards of trash so far.

i hate to reccomend this... owing to fire/smoke hazards, but you could clad the walls in polyiso boards for a very modest r value.
you could fasten furring strips to the walls and shim them out against strings to get a good sraight and plumb wall to fasten these foam boards.

will cost you some money, but will offer atleast SOME insulation value.

heres the thing though, you will still need heat at night. the insulation will just reduce the amount of heat you waste.
