what voltage/frequency ie Hz are you trying to run it on? If in US you'll need some other stuff to get it to work. The ballast reads 230V 50 Hz. US has 220V 60Hz so it would blow a fuse if you are trying like that.

Now thats stumping me.... Although any core & coil ballast is sure to be hazard unless you got a good fixture to compliment it with. Seeing ballast's open and naked kinda freak's me out after watching a 400 watt hps put on a light show cause it was arc welding itself pretty much. For the most part I've never assembled a ballast from scratch, just from time to time changing the wiring to accompany 120v.

Imnot crazy sounds like he know's electrical ratings, are you perhaps a building inspector? they always know that stuff off hand.

I'm not assembling anything from scratch. I just need to wire all together, with proper grounding. We don't get already made remote ballasts here, it's impossible to find any. We have to wire them ourselves.

Thats what I needed to know. The circle on the diagram denotes the bulb showing the anode and cathode of the gas tube. The rectangle with 3 wires going to it is the ignitor. Do you have it wired accordingly? Maybe the ballast is pulling (along with other appliances combined) more than the circuit can provide...
