hello all italian growers/ gardeners!

I am doing an assignment on the plant Calamintha nepeta.
It is not a very well known plant in my country (denmark) But on wikipedia it says that it is often used as a herb under the name of mentuccia, nipitella or nepitella. (in italy)

so I was wondering if any of wise italians could maybe enlighten me on what and if it is a well known plant..?

thanks! :)

The island archipelago of Lipari neputedda call it, is going to catnip. It is a special kind of wild mint, has a thin stem, small leaves and velvety, and numerous small white flowers and lilac. It grows wild in fields, or along the edges of paths and roads.

This is eaten raw in salads, with tomatoes, olive oil, salt, oregano, and is used to flavor sauces and pasta dishes. Excellent in pan with the soy and vegetarian pizza instead of basil.

Its season is summer, and thus it is dedicate to the collection of quest'erbetta when you are on vacation.
