need Help setting up a room

Hello this is a room i have to work with,at the moment i just have a 5x5 tent inside with an 8bulb T5 with 6 blue bulbs and 2 red.

i have some plants currently vegging in the 5x5, but these hot days are bringing the temp to 86F peak with the T5 and i can get about 70-75 at night depending on fan speed of the intake (only using an inline fan and ducting to bring in fresh air with a filter)

i plan on installing a 400MH air cooled or wing to veg until i am ready to flower

then i plan on running 1k hps(flower),eventually bringing the grow to 2k and so on as plans progress and i get the electrical situated.

i have a sunleaves portable AC that is 12-14BTU's,can confirm later on the exact BTU rating

i can ditch the tent if need be and do some type of wood work or w.e someone mocks up for me.

some Equipment i have from storage/other grows

Ballast/lighting
1kHPS Digital
400MH Digital
(3)1k HPS Magnetic
432ish watts T5 8bulb

hoods/lighting
(4) Air cooled 6inch hoods
(2) Large Adjust-a-wings
(2) Light Rails

Tables/res
(2) 3x6 Flood tables
(1) 4x8 Flood Table
(2) 50ish Gal ressi's that are the ones that go under the tables.

scrubber/fans
(1) Can100 or Can150
(1) 6in inline fan..need to get the ratings
(1) 8in inline,need to get the ratings..
25ft 6in ducting and some connectors.

Cooling
portable,dual hose sunleaves AC 12-14BTU

(2) 8stone pumps

im sure i got some other things i forgot to add/mention.

What was your question? I know you'll want the exhaust and intake for the a/c to be coming from outside the tent, otherwise you'll be adding to the heat. You can go from the t5 to the 1k with little problems. My advice to that is keep the 1k high for a few days so the plants can adjust to the intensity.

I'm not sure how to go about cooling the tent,or if i should take the tent out of the equation and make a bigger room with mylar/wood frames.

i set up the AC unit in the tent,it took a lot of room and
did not cool the tent how i thought it would with only a T5 in there.

86 is ok for veg with good air movement and fresh air. You're ac can be hooked to the window and piped into the tent with an intake. Build a box over the vent on the ac and put some ducting to it. The problem with that it's the ac's thermostat will not be able to judge the temp of the room and may or may not shut off. If you set it to low you'll need a bucket to catch the runoff. Mount you filter and fan high, hook into the lights, and then exhaust it out the window or anywhere but back into the room outside the tent. It'll raise the temps of your intake air and living space. Vented to an attic or outside it should drop your temps to close to room temps. A T5 doesn't have the ability to be cooled in that manner.

I thougth about the box vent thing...but lkke tou said the ac wouldnt be able to tell the temp within the tent so I didnt do that..

86f is with only an inline fan bringing in air from putside around 2pm when its hot outside

guess ill keep trying diff scenerios today with limited items

Your exhaust is what's going to keep the tent cool. Big exhaust try going passive intake with your scrubber and exhaust fan. Create negative pressure in the tent and it'll bring it down to outside the tent temps.

Thank you..u gave me a lot to think about..

not sure that I like my ac in the tent since I have to keep a 5gal bucket under the ac due to the liquid not comming out of the drain hole and leaking else where under....so it would be raised up high and if its up there and the exhaust is taking out air im not sure if it would cool my plants...i never had a setup like this.

My previous setup was 2 1k adjust a wings on light rails over 2 3x6 table with a resi under it..both have pvc structures for trellis netting and the room stayed cold with this unit..

the ac had an intake and an exhaust setup.and I had a scrubber cleaning the room inside

I wouldn't worry about the ac until you have a bigger room. You should be able to dial it in with your exhaust. As long as your scrubber and fan are big enough if should be relatively easy to get the temps down. Hook em scrubber -fan - lights - outside the tent to an area outside the room the tent is in.

so i want to change my setup to this picture i drew up in paint, MINUS the room exhaust/fresh air intake and just run sealed room style.

i also want my 5x5 tent in the opposite side of the flower room.

Questions:

should i run the air cooled light's ducting all the way to the attic board exhaust or just into that second room?

scrubber is in the opposite room to vent out the AC's Heat exhaust and smells

You shouldnt run the ac cold air into your hoods bro, all you are doing is wasting energy.
You need to use the AC to cool the radiant heat from the lights in the room, you got it set up to blow right out, the lights still put off radiant heat into the room.

If I were you I would be sucking hot air from the room into a fan/filter and blowing it through the hoods and out of the room.
The let the ac blow cool air into the room to cool the entire room down. Your AC intake becomes your fresh air intake for the room.
Your room exhaust and light exhaust is the same in that set up.
You are wasting you ac atm it looks like. Unless I am reading all that shit wrong. lol
Those portable AC are bad for our purposes, mostly.

Pay attn to Tonygreen. You've got a good bit of equipment. The one problem item is your AC. Portable AC's are really inefficient, and do a poor job in general. The best thing you could do would be to put a Friederich thru the wall unit in, or better yet, a mini split if you can afford it. Even a big window unit would be a huge improvement over the portable. And run a sealed room with dehum and CO2. Running ACs and dehums in a room that is not sealed is spinning your wheels and wasting energy [$]. Good luck. -granger

^^^^ Yeah what those 2 said. Keep the ac outside the tent to cool the outer room. Scrubber > fan > lights (all in the tent) > attic. No point in exhausting air into the space where the tent is. All your intake air will be chilled from the ac outside the tent.

Behind the AC unit is a windoe that is boarded off with intake holes..1 was brining air from outside..into the ducting for the air cooled hoods and out of the room..I juat drew it badly lol..another is for the ac intake.. also I said minus the fresh air intake and minus the room exhaust
