Need help selecting a pump for DTW

I need some help with what pump to buy and how to set it up for my particular situation.

I have a 105 gallon reservoir (www.grow-hub.com/product/105-Gallon-Stand-Up-Reservoir) that has a opening in the top as well as a 3/4" outlet at the bottom.

I will be running 8 3'x3' trays and using a DIY 1/2" rubber grommet/tube drip system mounted into 1" PVC for distribution around the room.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a valve or some other type of mechanism that I can use to mount the pump (external mount pump) to the bottom 3/4" outlet so that when the pump is on water flows out, but when the pump is off the water doesn't drain out.

If that is not a workable solution, how many feet of head should I be looking for in a pump assuming a floor mounting of the pump plumbed through the top of the reservoir (the reservoir is 63" tall).

Any help is much appreciated.

What you want is an electric solenoid valve. Look for one that is "110v normally closed". What that means is that when there is no electricity provided to the valve, it is closed. When energized, it will open. The the power to the timer that drives your pump. At feeding time, the valve will open when the pump starts up and shut when the feed cycle is over to prevent back draining. You can find them on eBay on various sizes in 110v and 12v configs
