Need help regarding setup

Hello fellas!

Okey, here is the thing. I've got a couple of tents and different lights and a small room to use.

I really want to try perpetual SOG for once but need a little help on my way.

The room im gunna setup my tents in are 2,8m x 1,8m x 2,2m (l,w,h)

This is what i got of equipment to use:

2pc Homebox XL (120x120x200)
2pc DR120w (120x60x160)
1pc 600w HPS
1pc 400w MH
2pc 150w HPS
1pc 150w MH
2pc 225m3/h w/ carbon scrubber
1pc 345m3/h w/ carbon scrubber

I also got nutes, timers, about 25pc 11liter pots (30x30cm) and 25pc 3,5liter pots (15x15cm).


My original plan was to run 600w in 1pc Homebox as flower w/16pc 11liters pots with 4clones in each, and 1pc DR120w as mother/clone chamber w/150w MH. The plan is 14days per 4pots with a 8 week strain.

Will this setup be fine or would you do something else, and why would you do it? I want the most out of what i have.

Sounds like it will be a pretty good set up, and free beans nice, will check in to see how it's going. Setting up the room can be soo much fun, enjoy.

jamrockjay: I'll be running soil, thats the only medium i feel comfortable with Hydro is no option atm, meaby i'll try coco later.

I've had a run with the large tents before, CM from MNS but that was a total failure because of bad temps and mites My girls got so stressed from the heat that they hermied on me, lol ..

That setup sounds just fine, but I would recommend adding the 400w MH that you're not using to the flowering room for a 600w HPS/400w MH mix. You can fit more than 600w of light into that Homebox XL to boost your yield, and adding a MH will give you both blue and UV light, which helps keep internodes short, and imo yields a more aesthetically pleasant plant, respectively. Also, why did you decide to go with 4 clones in one 11L pot instead of smaller pots with thier own clones in them?

I agree with what Philosophelon said. I think also that u would be better using smaller individual pots rather than having 4 plants in a 11l pot. I am no expert tho and everythin i say should be checked for ur own peace of mind .Remember dont get stressed out about ur plants and dont 'mother' them to much lol....Good luck with ur grow

Philosophelon: Thanks for the input. Im setting up all the gear later tonight. I will then try to add the 400MH in the Homebox, hope the temps dont rise too much. I thought it would be easier to water 4pc 11liters than 16pc 3,5liters No other reason. If it is benefitial i'll run down to my shop and buy heaps of 3,5liters. How long should i veg? I was thinking about taking 20cuts each 14days, rooting takes 7-10 days, then veg 14days before flipping to 12/12. Is that too much veg time?

I like to have each plant in its own pot, mostly so that I can rotate them and move them around to encourage even growth of all the plants. If you have four plants in one pot, you can't rotate the plants, and the sides of the plants facing the middle of the pot won't have as good of bud development. Also, bigger pots are deeper than smaller pots, and if you have too small of plants in a big pot, the soil tends to stay a little too wet.

Rooting takes 7-10 days if you have a cutting that roots pretty easily. I have an old Original Blueberry clone that takes like 21-24 days to root. You probably won't have that problem, that's the extreme, but it might take two or even three weeks (especially if you don't have an aerocloner).

14 days of veg is probably about right -- although again keep in mind that some strains grow very quickly in veg, and some grow more slowly -- so you should do some testing to figure out what works the best for each different set of genetics you grow. Try 14 days veg this round, then develop a working hypothesis for whether an increase or a decrease in veg time would be most beneficial, and then test it next round. Repeat as necessary.
