Need help identifying early strain

Hi all, last year I come across a plant with an extremely short bud time. I planted it in late November-early December and harvest on the 5th of January. I don't understand why this strain is budding whilst every other strain I've ever dealt with is still in full vegetation until at least mid-late January. It is spring and I am from New Zealand. When I suss out a camera I'll take a few pics of the plants growing traits. What I can describe though is a good mix between indica and sativa due to the fingers of the leaves being broad and long. I don't have enough information on the lateral spacing yet as the seeds are only young. Any ideas would be appreciated thank you. Peace and keep safe.

No one is going to be able to tell you what it is with any sort of certainty...

Pics might help, pics of veg plant structure and flowering pics at harvest would help some, but even then it would be hard to identify.

Hey cosmic thanks I thought the same thing. I can get the traits up in pictures in the next few days but other then that, it is a pretty far in between ask. Perhaps if anyone had ever dealt with a plant with such a short flowering period before?

Hey mintz, this come from seed. I am attempting to clone a few shoots at the moment. I guess I could do a little test and run it on a 24 hour cycle and see if it will decide to bud up after a month or so?

The fact that it flowers while everything is in full veg is what has thrown me off. I'm using this for a maize grow I have planned, It will be out of the crops well before the farmer thinks to harvest his.

Perhaps that particular plant was breed at an extreme north/south location.

I was gifted some seeds from above 55N. I live at about 38N. The results were that the plants would flower under my normal "shortened" daylength as soon as they showed their cotyledons. Zero veg time...
These seeds do just fine under 24 hrs of light but anything less than 20 will initiate flowering.

Anyway... Just a possibility.

Hey man that was my initial thought when I first had the chance to see it flower during veg. I'm from NZ and it's pretty little, there is all the chance in the world these did come from a really warm, sub tropic part of the world it's just a pitty I have no idea where from. But I theorized that the next two or three grows 'round, that the strain will adapt too this climate and eventually begin flowering at the regular time. Thanks a lot for your thoughts! Keep safe

Some plants need long daylight hours to stay in veg, while others will stay in veg at say 13 hours daylight.
But hey, at least you will get some early buds.

You say you planted it late November/Early December, but was this the time you planted it outdoors as a seedling, or the actual time you germed the seedlings?

Yip I agree, what you describe how ever sounds a lot like sativa dominant strains. Where-ist I do believe this is a healthy mix, short stocky plant close node distance. Stoked about the early harvest how ever I noticed it had a tend to rot really really early...
Thanks fr your input man.
