Guys (and gals)
I need help with a setup I can use for when I go away for vacations (3-4 days at a time).
I am running a 1 kw HPS in a 5x5 tent with a fan to help with the exhaust.
I usually make sure I am home when it is lights on time, but I don't have any problem leaving the house after that. What I do have a problem with is leaving the house for extended periods of time with the HPS (meaning several days). In the past I've usually been able to time vacations and stuff to coincide with a break between harvests, but Im not always able to do that.
I need to find a backup lighting solution I can use if I need to leave the house for a 3-4 day period. I'm sure leaving the 1kwatter alone would be fine, but Id have more peace of mind using something that has the following criteria:
1) Safer than leaving a HPS bulb alone
2) Low heat
3) Low power consumption, (possibly battery operated ?)
4) Will allow me to NOT use the fan, but instead rely on passive air outtakes and forced air intake from my household HVAC system which will be set to turn on intermittently.
5) wont break the bank
looking forward to tips and usggestions.
