need help about cuttings!

Hello there!

I am having a dilemma here!

I am about to start growing. I'l start out with seeds (usually u buy like 10 of them or something similar) since I live in an isolated area and can't get any cuttlings from some other source.

My dilemma is that I'd really like to go SoG, but I can't do that with so few seeds and be efficient. So I'll grow larger plants.

My growing area is 62 square feet with all the equipment that I would possibly need. (4x600W lamps, fans, mylar on the walls, etc.)

How many larger plants can I squeeze into that space?

What growing method for larger plants should I use?

What kind of hydro systems? (I don't want to use soil)

How large a mother/mothers do I need to make a SoG of that space later on?

With the larger plants, how long should I keep them in the veg state before I set them to flower? I guess that it's the method that decides that... btw, I'm not comfortable with starting out with some vertical grow, something easier would be nice!

Thanks in advance!

:blowbubbles:Hello!

heres what I'd do if I wanted to grow from seed in your situation...

go to seedboutique and find your beans, order them grem them, and start the seeds in soil. Once you sex them, and are big enough for sexing, the ones that you want to keep by cloning them, so instead of throwing in 5 females, you could have a lot more.

search the hydro forums, and read through what those guys are doing... I always learn something...

ok so im assuming your room is square which would mean your room is about 7.8feet X 7.8feet. you could fit four 3x3 E&F tables in there. on each table you should be able to to fit 9 plants for a total of 36 plants. you could supply this room with as little as 2 good size, productive mother plants. but i think 4 would be more practical, and gives you plenty of cuts to work with. you wouldnt need to veg very long in a SOG style grow, but the actual time needed would be more strain dependent than anything else. if you have a room for moms/clones you could cut a lot of time out of veg, once you get going and fill your rooms up. what i would do is get my seeds. grow them out. take clones, label them, and put clones into flower, kill all male clones and 'father' plants. take more clones from your mothers. finish flowering the female clone and select the mothers your keeping based on the end product of the clones. toss all vegging clones from the mothers your not keeping and by this time your mothers should be large and should be able to supply you with all the clones you will need. this will take about 16+weeks to get to this point (4weeks from seed to veg, 4weeks from veg to flower, ~8weeks from flower to harvest). once you get to this point you are pulling plants every 8weeks or so based on flowering times. this is just a rough idea of the logistics but like i said im assuming a lot on your end. hope this helps
