I live Kingston, Ontario and I would like to open a coffee shop or dispensary. We have a lot of seniors who can't do it on there own.
All info is appreciated. How to get a business license, Contacts for other products edibles etc. Also where I stand legally. Hopefully Liberals get in and then the coffee shop is legal.

You might get more help in the Canada forums...get a lawyer, that's the first thing you should do.

I would look into meeting your community as well as like minded people

Ontario is not bc, bc has the support of vancouer mayor and also surrounding mayors

A lawyer/legal aid would be a good start, you might risk some legal repercussions

Like getting stuff (house, business seized) if you cant show paper trails

sometimes they raid and the arrests dont amount to convictions because if its for the sick, the judges dont want to penalize and also because in canada there was no place for sick to get their medicine. I would prepare for the raids and have your stuff stashed in secure places, would also be careful for security, like disclosing safe spots on phones or internet.

Also i would boycott the current mmpr or whatever it is now mmj program

Bunch of mfers, trying to make money off the sick

One place, hydropothecary, the only licensed growers/sellers in quebec (headed by fiscalists and politicians) tried to sell their weed at 32$ a g (in little boxes with ribbons) on them

Until some comon sense arrived and the government put a max limit on the price per gram
You realize, 32$ per gram, what a bunch of crooks

So in that sense, people are trying to profit off the sick, but if you can get good medicine at good prices to people who really need it, then I believe you might be able to make it

I would suggest reading on past busts in clubs, like calm in toronto or compassion clubs in quebec. You could get in contact with other clubs. Im sure there would be some willing to help.

Vapor lounges are open not only in bc, toronto but also even ottawa they have more than one.
Maybe some other places too... They are byob, bring your own bud cafes

Also you talk about dispensary or coffeeshop, frankly i dont think you could do both and i think you should think about what kind of service you want to offer (you either sell it or offer a place to smoke it)

Maybe try to find what kind of service people would be more interested in your community
Bud or a place to gather but usually the places to gather, sell paraphnelia (papers, bongs) to make some xtra money or even to have some financial base

Maybe you could make
One half bakery (no pun intended), bake some quality bread and bakeries
One half pot shop (medical/license only)

But with all the municipal bs and regulations, personally it makes me want to run off to the woods and not deal with anymore bureaucracy.

Sometimes people have the vision, but they dont have the skills, sometimes they have the skills but they dont have the finances. Getting some financing somewhere is possible.
With enough willpower, who knows what you could do...

Perhaps a visit to an existing dispensary ..outta town, then a talk in the town hall would ease your mind, there was a book about this perhaps amazon, but it would be outta date?

Talk to other dispensary owners. Invest in a good lawyer. Have piles of cash. Be ready to get arrested, fined or even jailed.

I could only imagine the amount of red tape, stress and anxiety revolved around trying to create a thriving business around the current MMPR in hopes of one day becoming legal. Heh a person can dream I guess.

I would look at alternative businesses, use some creativity. Everyone and their brother can sell weed.

Getting a business licence is not that difficult now, as there are numerous business licence service providers. It’s easy to contact them and register our business and get a licence. I consulted the Ontario Business Central for the registration of my business in Toronto, as they provide online registration for business whether it is a sole proprietorship or general partnership. The charges may vary with the type of registration you choose.
