Need an on demand pump

Was hoping somebody could point me in the direction of a quality on demand pump that I can use quick connects to move from garden spot to garden spot. I will need it to attach to a 250 gallon tank, that I would love to be able to use a hose directly from the pump.

Not really interested in cheap models, unless they have been proven winners.

Thanks everybody, outdoor time has almost arrived.

Little Honda gas pump has worked well for me, easy to move around plenty of pressure. I use a union on the intake and garden house on out.

Lowes has something called a transfer pump. I believe it was under 200 and it last the whole full term season. Quick connects will not connect directly into pump but you could adapt with other parts and adapt from the 1/2" or 3/4" end of pump into whatever quick connect piece you can think of

Keep the idea's coming people. I prefer 110v hookups, but gas was an idea I had yet to think of.:tiphat:

Swimming pool pump. You can find them free and they are usually 3/4hp or more. I have one in my truck, with a generator and a 65 gallon cone bottom tea brewer.

When I fill the tank I just plug it into 110. When I am out in the field watering I fire up the genny.

StonedTrout - Thanks. People like the gas I guess huh? What model is that?

Lyfespan - This is just for my feeds, so the pump you suggested would work great. For my everyday irrigation I have a much higher quality pump installed with timers. Thanks for the advice.

I love my Honda wx10 pump. I've ran it hard for years and it's never failed me...

Love it!

So, last years, but what is the maintenance? Usually gas powered things tend to crap out on me. I have 110v ran out to all my grow spots, so I don't have to have gas. However, I could see if I move how gas would be easier than running 1000's of liner feet of pipe.

I've haven't done anything but use mine for 4 years, the Honda branded ones work great. I can't vouch for the inspired by Honda with a Honda engine Amazon versions but the wx10 is a champ at my place. I move water up an 80ft hill and then about 300 more feet to a 2500 gal holding tank. At my feed tank at level ground it's got a lot pressure and can lay down some water quick like.

Ok, now we are talking. You guys are awesome.

Mendogrowing - I was looking at amazon, and didn't notice the "inspired by" anywhere. Thanks for pointing that out. Where is a good spot to buy the actual Honda pump from?

Just another random question, do you run ACT's through the pump? I would just use it to deliver the tea, so just one pass through. I would think that wouldn't kill every microbe......just wondering your experience.

Thanks again guys.

I was being a wise ass calling them "inspired by", that's what I call any knockoff Honda product with an actual Honda engine lol. I got mine from my local Honda dealer. I run tea through mine, no way could it kill everything, any of the electric equivalents would have the same sheer force is imagine.

This pump says it can move much more water than I need on a regular basis. Which is great, but can it run a hose strait off it, and not choke it down too much? Also, is the pump "on demand" where it can be used by a hose shutting on and off?

I think I will buy it, just wanted to double check with some last second questions.

I used the 1hp Wayne sprinkle pump for 2 years to pumove over 80 vertical feet to holding tank. I baught 2 because they were cheap and I figured I would burn one out but it's still running strong.
