need advice

Past few nights I've heard a chopper in my neighborhood. At first I thought nothing of it - thought it was an emergency hospital helicopter. However, I noticed it again tonight and I'm becoming somewhat paranoid - I've become more paranoid lately, so it could be merely that. It seemed to be fairly near my residence (hovering within the block), though it was hard to tell because it was dark. I could hear it and I could see lights from it. It seemed to hover/circle/stay in the area for at least five minutes; it then flew away and possibly landed nearby but I'm uncertain. Is it possible this is LEO investigating my grow through some sort of heat-sensing device? Would they use a chopper to do so, and would they do it more than once?

I just started flowering, so I have two months left. If this is LEO, I need to shut down. But at the same time I don't want paranoia to dictate this and ruin my investment.

For those of you who've been in similar situation, what did you do, what was the outcome, and what would you recommend? What is the likelihood this is LEO, is there anything I can do to determine if it is, and if it is what information are they likely to already have and what further steps will they take before a raid?

Thanks IC.

kinda depends on your area and how frequently local enforcement uses the eye in the sky

does your city/county have helicopters as a regular part of enforcement?

where i'm at, they don't - so it would stick out like a sore thumb to have one hovering. other places i've lived, everything from traffic stops to B&E calls got a helicopter hovering over the scene.

Let's put it this way:

If you're on the radar they will get you, heli or not.

Personally I doubt you being the target. You did not say which country you live in but if you are in the US a heli is just one of the (many) tools used. You're electricity consumption would be a factor as well and they don't need a heli for that.
Also the size of your grow - if it is just a few plants with one light - imagine all the saltwater aquarium owners having helis hovering over their houses! (most saltwater tank owners use HPS lights!)

So yeah if I were you...I probably would not be too worried @ this point.
Then again better safe than sorry.....

So the last call is on you. :comfort:

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if a helicopter is a regular part of law enforcement around here, honestly. I didn't think it was but it could be. I live in the U.S. City of around 125,000, metropolitan area of 350,000 - ish, so I think we could support a chopper. I just found it rather odd that it was there for that long.

I don't think I'm on their radar, but it's possible of course. I'm going to take extra precautions from now on. In a way, paranoia can be a good thing. So I'm wondering if the chopper could be an indicator that I am on their radar. They need a warrant to examine electrical usage, right? My grow is only 1600 watts so I think I'm within the safe limit, no?

Anyone else want to chime in?

It's normal to get paranoid early in flower it's part of the up and down cycle of paranoia so just have fun with it and next time go outside and moon them. :moon:

You will feel way better when you realize that nobody even notices you and trust me buddy they are most likely not there for you man so don't sweat it, smoke some kind bud and try to chill out because either way there are only two options and you already chose door B. (for Bud)

Man up and say fuck all that paranoia. I mean just read your own username and sig! ;)

you only running 1600watts, i think your just being paranoid. its okay it happens to all of us.

a bit of info that might help (not that i think you need it), I read somewhere that the cops cant use images from their heat sensitive cameras to get a warrant (in the US) if the pictures were taken during the day. because of the way the sun heats things up their images loose there accuracy(or come out blotchy or something).

Im medical now, but when i was an outlaw i always ran my lights and ventilation during the day because of this.

stay safe and good luck

If they are search lighting there looking for somebody, with FLIR they don't use lights! Unless they are landing at night in the jungle & they're using infrared lights to see with night vision goggles oh hold it different thing!!:plant grow::smoweed:
