Need advice on starting/ending PPM for these strains.

I have been growing GG4 for a few years, and decided to try growing some seed varieties. GG4 was a very weak feeder, starting at 300ppm and ending at 600ppm (.6 and 1.2 EC). I am bad at reading plants, and would appreciate any advice on these strains. If you know the numbers would be great, but just knowing if they are weak/average/heavy feeders, would help a lot.

Also any other growing tips would be greatly appreciated. I will reserve the second post in this thread, to post information to help others in future, with details about each strain. If anyone wants other strains included, let me know. Thanks to all!!!

By the way, I am starting seeds in rockwool, moving to coco. Will also be growing them in RDWC, if hydro PPM numbers are different from coco.

I run all strains 400-600, if one is looking lighter theb others I just bump the base nutes up that's in coco.

So you look for them not be green enough?? I am going to have to study pictures of macro deficiencies. I am in coco for seed plants, and feeding GH Flora series, so should not have micro deficiencies.

At what point do you give 400 PPM? With clones, was giving 300 PPM when had good amount of roots in rockwool.

Can't tell you about PPMs/EC that much, and i haven't grown the strains you have, but with landraces/landrace hybrids it is usually advised to keep the nutrient strength fairly light around the same as you gave the GG#4, so around 1.2-1.4 EC.

If the landrace/-hybrids are close to 100% sativas, you may want to feed them little less nitrogen than for landrace afghanis, cause too much N could keep them flowering a longer time and they wont ripen like they're supposed to.


I grow in soil (house plant potting soil) with BioBizz nutrients and lately i have been trying to give the plants just the amount that they seem to be needing, cause heavy feeding will make the flushing a bitch also. Rough estimate, i give them around 65% strength of what BioBizz recommends; that turned to EC would probably be around 1.4 to 1.6 the max.


Few thoughts: my EC estimation is for peak of bloom, so the max just before leeching/flushing

- WW x Blueberry is prolly a fairly light feeder, around the same as your GG#4

- Blue Dream prolly around the same as it is a Blueberry hybrid, i have understood

- Amnesia is a feminized SSH-cut, so prolly around 1.4 EC

- [FONT=&quot]Early Pearl X Skunk Haze prolly around 1.2-1.4 EC

[/FONT] - I grew CBD Critical Cure from Barneys, which is Critical Kush x CBD parent and it was around the 65% or 1.4-1.6 EC

- NL x Big Bud prolly around the same as Critical Kush

- For the OG Kush hybrids it's prolly the same as OG Kushes usually are, so i'm sure you'll find lots of info about that from grow reports.

- I just read on a Seedman Afghani#1 thread that it's fairly light feeder

- Colombian Gold is prolly a light feeder being a landrace sativa, and you should keep the Nitrogen on abit lighter side too

...that's about all i can tell you, and these were just rough estimations.

Sure, no EC levels, but maybe you'll get some idea how i would use 2-component hydro nutes.

It's always wise to up the nute strenght easily; to look closely if and when you start to get a little tip burn and then back off a little.
You'll start to get the hang of it once you've grown many different strains and read grow reports by others
