Need Advice LIGHTING.. LED?

Looking for lighting for my Small Veg. Closet. (approx dimensions; 2.5Ft. Width, 3Ft. height, 4Ft. Depth)
I was thinking either a LOW W MH (maybe 150w), OR T5H0 Fluorescent, OR LED?

I found this in a local ad online. The buyer said he received a lot of them from a supplier for work their did for them. This is all the information I have on the lights. They are asking $300 Per Light.

Is it worth it? Are these a good quality product?

Thanks!

- Led lifespan 50,000hrs+ , no maintenance, simple plug & play grow light
- Easy to use and operate. Plugs directly into standard 120v outlet (will also run on 220/240v)
- Heavy duty, professional, Full Spectrum LED grow light designed to run 24/7
- Grow lights can be daisy chained together to save cabling
- Brass hanging hooks for growrooms for easy hanging
- Saves 70%+ on hydro while exceeding the PAR output of a standard 600-800watt HPS, no more wasted light just whats needed
- Perfect for 4-6+ plants depending on your garden plants size
- Custom high power LEDs, extra large heat-sink, air cooled and fan cooled
- Uses an electronic built-in switching mode with a 97% efficient power supply, does not require a ballast as required with MH, HPS and fluorescent (this is inefficient and will eventually burnout).
- The high power LEDs run super cool, efficient and produce little heat. 3 powerful quiet built-in cooling fans keep the grow light running cool, you don’t need to buy additional expensive cooling systems.
- The LEDs full spectrum covers a 120degree wide light pattern giving your plants an even, powerful light source of whites, reds & blues they require during the vegetation and flowering stages, you don’t need to buy additional bulky reflectors as required with other lights such as MH/HPS.
- The high power full spectrum LEDs concentrate on the exact light spectrums fully absorbed by all plants to promote higher yields in the plants, better growth & increased budding, flowering and fruiting.
- Ideal for all phases of plants growth, suitable for indoor hydroponic, plant-breeding houses, gardens, farms, greenhouses, horticultural parks etc, or anywhere where PAR light intensity is required for fast and speedy harvesting
- Tailored PAR spectrum to provide all plants with the required spectrum they thrive on to maximize photosynthesis and provide quicker vegetation / flowering with an increase in yields compared to standard MH and HPS or other standard led grow lights
- Either Full Spectrum Light can be upgraded to 20% more vegetation or 20% more flowering while still handling all stages of plants life
- Dimensions 16"Lx9"Wx3.5"D

Here are some pics of it from the ad. It is a little on the high side of my budget, so I really need to make sure it is a good product that will not go bad on my!

hid over led any day...even tho I have never owned one the grows I have seen weren't that impressive ..they don't have the penetration for larger plants ..so unless your growing small plants or placing them all around I don't see the benefit....other will dis agree and that's fine...you get more bang for your buck with hid...led keep getting better and cheaper tho so their day is coming ...yeehaw..I will be getting one myself to play with eventually..led advertising is always funny to read with a lot of bullshit claims !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah man, i'm sorry i can't help you with any kind of guidance on that light as i have never gotten past the cost, in my very limited research it seems to me that to get any kind of yields from LED's you need to spring for very expensive units and while i really like the whole concept of LED, i figure i'll wait until more is more widely known and the prices have come down.

...anyway, with all that being said, have you considered PLL's? ...if you are unfamiliar with them they are a newish form of CFL that has a straight body rather than a twisty bulb, plus, they are remote ballasted so most of the heat is, or can be, removed from your growspace which, in your case is limited and so dealing with heat will be one of your most important challanges.

...here is a thread on PLL's for you to scan to see if this might be a more economical alternative and in it you will find MANY testimonials as well as wiring instructions and links to sources where you can find the bulbs, the sockets and the ballasts.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?threadid=132787PLL Club. (if you don't know, now you know)

...and here are a few pics of my cloning/seedstart cab that i built about 4 years ago using 4x 55watt bulbs for a total of 220watts, ...the bulbs are available in several different Kelvin temperatures and in several wattages with the lower wattage bulbs being physically shorter than the higher wattage bulbs, the 55watters are approx. 23 inchs from socket to bulb tip.

...here is a shot of the parts before i installed them.

...another shot as i wire them up.

...and a shot of the inside of the finished cab.

...and a shot of the back of the cab where i put the ballast as i was finishing up the build, note that all i used for exhaust was a pair of pc fans, this isn't a flowering cab so no scrubber was needed so high powered fans were unnecessary.

...anyway, if you're on a budget you may want to consider the PLLs as that setup in my cloning cab ran me just about $100.00 to put together so far less money than an LED.

good luck, bozo
