Need advice from all of you micro growers.

Hi,

So i was thinking about growing in 60cm x 60cm x 90cm micro cab. (2ftx2ftx3ft)

Using 4 x cree cxa 3590 3500k with dimmable driver - so it would be 50w per cob with a dimmable driver up to 1400mA (prolly will run it on 700mA at first - 25w per cob)
Just to recude heat and gain on efficiency.
I would like to use soil as a medium and MaxiBloom for fertz.

1. How big pots and how many of them? Will grow Sour Bubble

2. Should i do 12/12 from seed? ( since height restrictions)

3. Optimal yield? ( i know alot of varibles- but whats your record yields and what average.)

I remeber i saw pics here on icmag where the guy used really small pots, singel cola plant and just big ass bud 40cm in lengt. But cant find the thread.

What do you guys think? Just give your 2c and your stories on sucess and failures as well- Thats how you learn.. :p

Peace out! :peacock:

It all depends bro on what you are trying to achieve, how many seeds you have, plant limits, etc.

60x60x90 you will have some limited height, so most likely either 12/12 from seed in small containers or a bigger container with some LST to keep them short.

If I were you, i'd use 4 5gallon pots, with around 5 plants per pot, if you are using regular seeds, which would give you hopefully 2 females per container., after you cull the males. Veg them for around a month, and start training them early on so they branch out nicely.

I use 2 CXB3070 in a 2x1x3 cab, about half the size of yours, and I run each cob at around 30w, very happy with the results, usually get 1gram per watt return, but has potential for more!

Soil is whatever you prefer, I like a rich organic soil in which I can just feed my plants water only through the whole cycle, takes a bit more work in the beginning getting all the ingredients and mixing the soil, but it's a lot easier long term since you dont have to mix nutes every watering, plus you can always re-use the soil and not have to throw it away every run, and in my opinion grows the best quality earth...

1 gram per watt is a good yield benchmark for COB LED's, they are pretty awesome!

Have fun and let us know what you decide.

Best of luck, pEace, BW!

I don't have plant limit and i have plenty of seeds.. ;)
And ofc i'd like to max out my yield.- like most of you guys

And yeah if i could pull 1g/w that would be amazing..Then I only need 1 run of sensi to fill my need for a full year. :D
But ofc i'll try to do fem seeds and try breed something intersting for outdoors in the far far north...

Plant pot size is whatever you want, but pot size dictates the size of the plants, with that size space i wouldn't go more than 1 gal, more likely 1/2 gal containers or smaller, unless you want to top, lst or scrog it as with a gal container those plants could easily out grow the space if done well.

As mentioned by Buddah Watcha 1g/watt is a decent metric to go by but don't expect to get it first run, and it really depends on what your goals are, and growing style. If saying one run could net you enough for a year, you'll have enough to play around with in that space no problem, just make sure you have enough cooling.

As for 12/12 from seed, it can be done but I've always found I've gotten better plants and yields when at least vegging them for 2-3 weeks before flip, cause when you don't they tend to stretch more when done 12/12 from seed and they are not as full.
