need a little advice

Here is my situation, I started a small rubbermaid grow in the closet. 8 plants 12" put them into flower right away. Here is the prob. My kid went in the closet while I was gone, not sure if she looked into the rubbermaid. But started to question whether I should be doing this in my home. I have a medical rec as does my wife so 8 plants is way under the limit. I'm just worried about potential repercussions if she did look and mentions it to the wrong person. I haven't scraped it yet as this happened yesterday but I am leaning that way. I thought about talking with her and about keeping it quiet but that seems like it would be alot of responsibility and she doesn't understand the ramifications of slipping up. Should I not worry since I have a rec or should I scrap it? Thanks for any advice

how old is she?

You are legal so thats not an issue. Who could she say something too? Rippers?

I would just talk to her and tell her it nobodys business

Yamaha, thanks I respect what you have to say. She's 13 and a great kid but I know that sometimes kids say things to be cool not knowing who is listening. I guess i just don't trust that the state wouldn't F with me over this even though I have the rec. Anyway thanks

Read what happened when my daughter said something to someone, which ended up with her Principle at school, and CPS at my house-- It is a "Good" story-- Hope it eases your mind-- Peace--

KMK, thanks and yes that does make me feel better. You went through exactly what I don't want to go through. Like you i have ha some very serious talks about using drugs/alcohol in a responsible manner, I really don't want to be hypocritical especially with my kids. I kinda had a little freak out imagining state workers or LEO coming to my door asking questions. Thanks again

It was my old bar name, always got a laugh but some times took awhile, sometimes had to say just call me dick. It was a good ice breaker. Glad you got a laugh out of it, have a good one.

I think your concerns are valid and comend your question. It is a very touchy subject I have a teenager and I hide my smoking from them. That’s my choice not lecturing on any morality here but if you plan on keeping the grow please consider taking the time to do a good micro cab that way you don’t have to worry about your daughter finding it or telling any one.

Security, security security.
Not that you have to worry about your daughter in any way but good security would have kept you out of this situation. Not easy but worth it, build a good grow box and dump the jury rig in the closet.

With all respect...I have to ask "why"?

Dick ... you're feeling just how "they" want you to feel and "they" hope your daughter does run her mouth when the right person is listening. Your kids 13 and you're still tip toeing around the weed subject ?

Hi Weed, in a sense you are 100% correct, and I don't want to do what "they" want, but 20 some odd years of doing what "they want is a tuff habit to break. But I do talk with my kid about MJ just not the part where I was growing some in the house. Brother believe me I'm trying to get back to my roots, but it is not easy in this world we live in.

Hey Richard,I've kinda got the same problem. 2 boys 10 and 8, the oldest boy was in my room and asked what the fan noise was and why We had an empty box of cfl light bulbs in the recycle bin with only 2 in the home sockets. I just told him i was saving them for the ones that burn out to save more energy and he was cool with that. the fan noise thing, I couldn't explain but he didn't ask any more. My sister in-law has an 8 year old daughter and has had the whole " I smoke to help my Fibromyalgia and it's no one's business" with her and that seems to have worked for her, but kids are still nosey about what they don't know. I'm still working on my speech for the youngones.
imop we are not doing anything wrong by cultivating and enjoying this wonderful plant that has so many yet undefined uses.

Hey Dresser, thanks for stopping by. That cracks me up my son 10 is asking similar questions. I bought CFL's for the house and he was asking why I got so many extras. I met a guy on CL selling all his hydro stuff, ended up being a cool guy but very hard ass. we talked and he was straight up fuck it, i never tried to hide it from them and they learned early on to shut there mouths. His sons don't even have an interest in MJ. Guess you gotta start early and stop the brain washing before it begins.

my bedroom door also has a lock on it, both are locked if i am not home.

Good question. For me its not just the legality of the situation it is a personal choice.

I don’t believe its right for me to impose my choices on my kids. They shouldn’t have the responsibility of keeping my habit a secret. Again just my humble opinion but I don’t put my 13 year old under that kind responsibility or decision-making because it’s not fair to them.
I understand that growing at all puts your family at risk and that’s a good point but I don’t like to make them culpable if possible.

Don’t get me wrong I have grown inside (no longer) too but if you can’t keep it a secret from your kids you should consider not doing it in my opinion and it’s just an opinion.

Good luck and I commend the poster again for looking for advice.

Thanks bro-- I believe that me being in a Medical State, and already having them see my garden, and leave...has left me a bit cocky-- You are absolutely right...the burden of secrecy should not be on your kids--
If you are illegal, they should not know--
But if you are legal, and truly believe there is nothing wrong with it...then why hide it--
That was my point...and I realize it doesn't apply to everyone--

I commend your thoughts and agree if it is legal then you have the right and probably the responsibility to educate your kids. The legality issue changes allot of things.

Its funny I just had this discussion (not on MJ) with a very pious person that I respect completely even though our religious beliefs are far from the same.

He took his 5th grader out of public school when they demonstrated how to use a condom without his permission. He told the school they had no right and they told him "We have every right."

He said, "As long as it is legal how I raise my kids is my decision not yours." and I couldn’t agree more.

Peace Bro.
