Well, here's my situation. I'm on a $300 budget and can get a 400w HPS for $110, or I can grow with my friend and use his 1000w HPS. I also have a spare 150W HPS that can be used. Problem is we don't have a cab, a fan, nutes, etc:confused: . What would one recommend for my situation? Any help is well appreciated.

Welcome to the forums here, sixth post or so I see, be sure check out our advanced search function for additional Ideas/ threads on "cabinets" (and other such key words, for thread titles) as this trail has all been "blazed":joint: before more than a few times few times already...
No need to reinvent the wheel and all that. ;) :D

Heart set on a cabinet?
..."Framed in" thick plaster drywall sheets can make very fire resistant cabinet building material, a walk in closet/ "snake room" is always nice. ;) :)
I've had a "snake room" in the past, and the funny thing about it is nobody wants to pet and cuddle the free ranging 5 meter Python thats supposedly allowed to roam in there...not to even mention the special lighting and heat requirements that a herpetolgical enthusist would provide to such critter(s) ;) :D
I've heard of some of "the reptile people" being "mistakenly raided" due to a large electrical consumption pattern & heat producing imaging factors... as many types of reptiles require 24/7/365 heat and UVB producing lamps and electrical basking rocks...

So far they've been leaving all "the fly people" alone. ;) :D
