nastynate's 6kw dank emporium

Hi icmag community,
This is my first grow so I figured I'd show it off and hopefully get some suggestions on how to improve my setup. I'm running 5 kw right now but plan on adding and extra kw here in a few days when the babies get a little bigger, and after this cycle adding 7-8 more 1k lights. Any and all suggestions welcome, because as I've said this is my first grow and I don't really know what I'm doing :).

Equipment list:
2 8" active air 720 cfm fans
6 1k watt apollo horticulture electronic ballast
5 6" air cooled hood
1 6" cool tube
5 apollo HPS bulbs
1 hortilux HPS bulb
1 70 pint a day dehumidifier
200 gpd hydrologic r/o filter
Sentinel environmental controller
50 gal r/o reservoir
20 plants in 3 gal potters- vegged three weeks
15 plants in 10 gal potters- vegged 2 months
2 floor stand fans, one 16", second 18"

Soil & Nutes:
Right now I'm keeping it simple with the lucas formula at full strength. From week 3-7 I plan on adding bloombastic into the mix.
We used FFOF before transplant into 10 gal pots of Sunshine Mix #4

Environment:
Day temp- 76-78 degrees F
Night temp- 71-73 degrees F
Humidity- 45-52%rh day and night
No C02

Strains:
Master Kush
Sage N' Sour
Strawberry Cough
Blue Dream
Cotton Candy
Cali-O
Blueberry Indica
Golden Goat
Dark Star
Kushberry

All plants just finished their first week of flower. Small bud sites have started to form. I plan on updating this journal about once a week.

Looking good so far.
How are you going to handle the heat?? Didn't see anything about a/c.
Temps are nice, an humidity isn't bad. If you can bump your humidity up to 60% day, and 55% night that will help those buds get bigger. But You will need great air flow. You dont want any problems.

I didn't realize that I should keep the humidity that high. I've heard that it should be down to 40 rh but that must be later in flower or something. By airflow do you mean air exchange or just floor fans, because my inline fans that are hooked up to the lights are controlled by my climate controller and they don't turn on at all during the night time so it's stagnant in there other than what the floor fans are moving. Should I hook up one of the inline to run all the time to keep the air exchanging?
To answer your question about heat, I just use the two inline fans hooked up to my temp controller and they turn on whenever it gets past 75. So, during the day they are on almost all the time and it doesn't get past 77 deg F. I turn the lights on when it's dark outside so the inside of the house is cool at that point because where I live it stays relatively cool during the outside nighttime. I may buy a 12 inch inline that's hooked up to the atmosphere controller and just plug the inline light fans on all the time, if I start running into temp problems. Thanks for the response. Peace.

Yes i meant air flow with the floor fans. With higher humidity you want great air movement so you don't have any problems....PM or budrot etc..

Thats awesome you don't have to worry about a heat issue.
The way you have it hooked up now on the controller is perfect. no need to have it running at night.

This run i have going now(since its spring, an pull cool air from outside) stays around 62-66% during lights on(no dehumy running) and 48-51% lights out. this humidity range seems to be perfect for great growth. Compared to last round when i was about 15% less.

Day 16

Day 16

Figured I'd update the thread since I hadn't in a while. It's day 16 flower and everything is going along pretty well. Temps got up to 78.5 last night which I think is a little high and have fixed the vents to fix the problem so they should be back down to 75 here in the next few days. I've also started adding .5 ml/gal. of bloombastic into the lucas formula. Does anyone know if I should lower the lucas formula to 7 ml micro/gal and 14 mL bloom/gal instead of 8/16 since I'm adding ppm's w/ the bloombastic? I got my cords more organized so when I walk around to check out my plants I don't run into them. For some reason icmag isn't letting me upload pics right now so I'm going to have to do edit them in later.

Day 21 or 22

Day 21 or 22

It's 21 or 22, can't really remember. Buds are really starting to fatten up and really start to smell. The space queen is my favorite so far. It smells exactly like fresh pineapple. Most of the plants are starting to really show some nice crystal formation. Unfortunately the master kush hasn't really started to show crystal formation. On day 16 I started adding bloombastic at one ml per gallon. Towards the end of this week I will start increasing it to 2ml per gallon. I do have a question for the more experienced growers out there, the smaller blue dream has started to have pistils that are turning brown. The affected areas are located lower down on the plant where on the side where not much light hits it. The leaves around them also show some signs of death. The last pics show what I'm talking about.

Quick unfortunate update. Found some hermies. All the sage n sour and the special queen hermed. I moved them upstairs in the hope that the others won't catch but I've got a feeling the whole crop may turn herm. I had a light like for the first 4 days to a week that I didn't realize was there. I was hoping that it wouldn't do anything but I think it ended up doing more damage than what I'd thought. I sprayed the optic foliar switch spray on day 26 hoping that it will help give the extra hormones needed for them to stay girls or at least not grow seeds. It looks like some of the plants have already started to grow seeds though so we'll see. What would you all recommend I do? Are the buds going to be worthless?
