Narrow MH bulbs with decent spectrum?

G

Guest

Hi, I'm looking for a MH bulb that is narrow like a HPS bulb for cooltube purposes but that has a decent spectrum. Found several in aquarium stuff, like http://www.aquacave.com/searchresult.aspx?CategoryID=41 , but was wondering if anyone has used any specific bulbs and can vouch for dimensions and spectrum.

Planning on running a 250W. Right know the cooltube is a bake a round (3.75"), but if needed, I could upgrade to a fatter tube to get some veg action going.

I'm not looking to spend top dollar, but I can spend a reasonable amount.

Thanks,
~A

Do you have a 250 watt MH ballast?

Do you have a 250 watt MH ballast?

If you've got a magnetic 250 watt HPS ballast?...CMH bulb is the way to go...(Ceramic Metal Halide) for magnetic HPS ballasts only.

Thanks for the suggestion; I am going to have to try CMH someday, but right now I am looking at an electronic ballast, so I wanted to use a standard MH to veg, and an HPS to flower. I do appreciate the suggestion though.

I know narrower MH bulbs exist, if anyone has any experience with them I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks,
A
