What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) miracle grow
What Nutrient's are you using? just started general hydroponics 3 step
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* 2-1-1 table spoons , fallow the back to the ( t )
How often are you feeding? only have feed once

Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's? nope

ok that settles that , i have this on 2 of the 8 plants . the leaves are curling upward getting yellow and then spotting out . this is not on the newer leaves. so im not really worried but i figured id ask to see what the issue is . im thinking from reading stich"s sick guide that it is calcium def . but im probably wrong .

my set up is a closet 3 x 5 with the 400w hps and 8 21 day old kush plants , not sure witch kush , all i know it was beans from some really killer stuff that was shipped from cali .

so what yall think this might be ?

miracle grow

Your soil sucks. I would suspect the PH is off in that Miracle crap and has caused a micro nutrient lock out. The reason it has not happened in the others is most likely because of the inconsistent mixing of the Miracle crap.

Nice lay out BTW to cover all the bases for questions.

You are frying them to death. Overferted. The mg soil is probably pre ferted soil, plus you've begun feeding gh three part following the label directions arrrgh thats wayyyy too strong for mj !

What Nutrient's are you using? just started general hydroponics 3 step
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* 2-1-1 table spoons , fallow the back to the ( t )

leech that soil asap, and get a good pH meter or way to measure the pH. An "ec" meter would also be very helpful to measure fert strengths.

But for now, after you leech the soil, for feeding seedlings in veg growth I suggest you run a 3 G, 2 M, 1 B parts ratio using only about a quarter teaspoon (1.25 ml) per gallon for your part size of each. In other words (if you're going to use the beginners GH mix) start out feedings very weak for the little sprouts then bump up gradually as they grow larger with more foliage.

So next feeding, after they recover from the overfert, mix your gh 3 part by first mixing a half teaspoon (2.5ml) Micro into a gallon of water, mix well and then add 3/4 teaspoon (3.75ml) Grow, mix well then add 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) Bloom and mix well. Add 1/8th teaspoon epsom salts to that gallon and feed every third watering. Always mix the micros into the water first or you will end up with a badly damaged fert mix that is somewhat toxic to your plants.

A handy tool for measuring your nute concentrates is one of those baby medicine dosing eyedroppers sold at drug stores.
They're graduated down to .5ml and are very easy to eyeball for increments in between the half ml markings.

But again.. flush that soil of it's excessive ferts now and let the soil get dried before watering or feeding again. (see my link for watering technique)

The main point.....If you follow the label directions on the gh 3 part you'll kill the plants in no time flat.

Here's a GrowFaq link for the GH 123 beginners mix...

MG is fine for our weed, just not ideal. I have used it to grow large trees just fine. It is possible the soil contains too much of it though. I would flush, transplant to non ferted soil, and water with only plain PH water for at least a month.

ok sorry guys and gals it was late last night , but i did mix organic and regular M.G . together before the start . and the regular M.G was infact the one thats says it feeds for up to 3 months . also i added perlite to the mix at about 20% .

about feeding , i forgot to mention that i only did half of the dose recommended by the bottle i be leave it says on there to start it half strength . but thanks for the mico info , i have been adding the grow first then mixing a bit of water , then the micro and more water then the grow and then fill the gallon the rest of the way up . but i will be changeing that thanks (10k ) , but i did infact use 3-2-1 with the ferts .

my water should be fine this is my 3rd grow , and the last 2 did fine using the same water .

but as i said , the top leaves are fine , so im thinking im safe , but id rather get some info out of this , lol thanks for the reply's

You put a sprout in a 5 gallon bucket?? That was the beginning of your problem right there ... and yeah Some strains can tolerate MG soil as a seedling ... some can't ... IMHO MG Soil Sucks ... 10K has got you on the right track ... the tops look ok for now because the plant is feeding off the nutes that were in those yellow spotty leaves ... not the mess in your bucket ... If you continue to maintain an Over Ferted Soggy environment it will be like trying to grow weed in Sea Water as ferts the plant can't use translate to salts in the medium. I say if you're going to grow in soil ... grow in soil and if you're wanting to feed it like a hydro plant put it in ProMix or coco.

ok i dident just start it in a 5 gal bucket , i started them in little red cups , with yes MG . then they went to qt size pots , now they are in 5 gal buckets .

also i dont remember saying anything about a soggy environment . they are not vetwet at all , enless its just after watering .

i have grown my first two batch's in this same dirt blend , well i did start in hydro but heat in my water caused problems so i then put them in dirt. the first was chopped due to police nabbing a friend , the second ( the church ) did wonderfull and i got 8 zs of 4 plays under a 400w , in the same closet . check out the ( church grow ) link i have ,

so i know this dirt will work , im seeing that i just started ferting too soon !
so if you happen to already be using MG , when should you start feeding .

also i will add a pic here in a bit so you guys can see that they seams fine , i just was wondering about the issue that came u p , thanks for replys

here are a few shots as they sit now, i put them in the same containers as i used last time . and added alot of organic dirty to the mix . its MG organic but thats all i could find i will have to look around more for next time .

but as i said i think they are doing just fine ,

there is a few more in my gallery

well im guessing they look ok , no one saying they look bad , lol or soggy , lolol

i have gave them no food at all , just water every 3 days . they getting big quick.
