the cryptid community is all a twitter
this image is from a security camera at the Amarillo zoo (Texas of course)
can you name the creature? the zoo experts can't
I do have a speculation for later

a guy in a fur suit/mask
i'd think you might have a fine chance of getting shot
the profile does make it look like a very thin human
another explanation I saw was its a coyote that made a jump at the fence
didn't clear the top and the camera has caught it on the back jump - along with some blur to create ths image
what I did see is that there was a Amarillo UFO report from a week before or so
listed in the national ufo reporting center too, good rep for that site
and I have seen cryptids being associated with UFOs

thats not a coyote, the proportions are all way wrong
for reference:

coyote-buddy-jpg.18721918

this is a west coast coyote i saw on the trail a while back but im sure they are pretty much the same in the mid west

"i'd think you might have a fine chance of getting shot"
the funny thing is, most hunters would not shoot something like that
it looks too off
/unless you are some weirdo who wants to shoot at people i would not pull the trigger on something like that
now if it was beating at my door or climbing through my bedroom windows i would think different, mucho 5.56 heading your way
but thats not something i would shoot at and i think most reasonable people would hesitate to take the shot
fwiw, i want to believe that there are all kind of flora and fauna left to be discovered in the world; i just dont think they lurk outside zoos in the city

Fun post man!

thanks pop_rocks, it's interesting all right
I don't buy the coyote explanation myself
but of plausible explanations it's the best I've see so far
I'd have to think the area was checked for tracks
as for the risk of getting shot, that's partly my paranoia
if I went outdoor running around at night in a getup like that
thinking it wouldn't end well

It's a Dire Wolf from upstate New York.
I saw one once when I was a kid. :shucks:

....... either that or a shaman performing a ritual involving a spirit animal.
He's wearing a wolf skin cloak/hat and you can see the rattle in his right hand!

No, really, I know about this stuff!:bigeye::biggrin:

that it's a 'natural' animal would be quite the discovery
it's roughly human sized which is quite a large foot print ecology wise
but a cryptid and/or mythological beast is a tight match
and there were recent UFO sightings in Amarillo prior to this hombre showing up
not the first time cryptids showing their fuzzy faces when UFOs are in town
