Mystery Seedling Sprouted

Hi guys so I have a mns mango widow groing in batmix, kelp meal, blood and bone, rock dust, volcanic ash, it is in a 2.5 ltr pot, about 2 weeks old, yesterday i noticed a strange thing coming up out of the soil, I got down to take a closer inspection and its a seedling sprouting, the mango widow germinated on a twist so just as the root ball enters the soil it makes the shape of a loop, i had to try and dig it out, out of curiosity and it has a 1-1/2 inch taproot but it appears to of been snapped off on the end, my question is could the mango let out another shoot/seedling sprout from the root? as the mw looks really happy and isnt stressed, i have never seen this before the seedling, even though appeared snapped off is now growing next to the other plant, there is no possible way it could of been a stray seed, what the hell is going on? Any input appreciated.
Thanks guys, i can upload a crappy pic if needed too :) :tiphat:

Peace. Ash.

There is no way that its a stray seed, as it was a new pot of soil-mix and i germinate as needed everything is kept separate and far away from each other?! I'm rather confused... Ive had tri-leafs twins etc, but never seen a twin sprout 2 weeks into veg? the seedling looked normal when planted. :thank you:

wife has my phone atm will take better pics later if required, it also appears to have small remains of the embryonic sack/membrane on the top of the cotyledon, which would suggest its from a hatched seed, but unless they are now putting cannabis seeds in 50 ltr bags of batmix, im at a loss to explain it. I dont usually post in the forum just peruse it, but this is rather peculiar.

I'm not sure in cannabis, but I know other type of plants will do this with roots sending up new shoots. It's a way for them to spread and make sure they continue on in their life cycles. Again, not sure if this is the case with cannabis.

there was another thread recently with a similar situation but fak me if I can find it to throw down a link for you. I've seen this too but with a plant grown from a clone and assumed I had to have somehow dropped a seed into my soil supply but when I dug out the seedling it seemed to be rooted into the roots of the plant beside it. It happened in an 18 gallon tote, sprouting up 8 inches or so from the stem , 3 weeks after transplanting a clone plant from a 2 gallon to an 18gallon. I'd say the clone plant was 5 weeks old at the time. I still don't have a verdict on what went on there and I culled the seedling anyway.

Thanks for the info, it was new soil so its very confusing, it must be an offshoot, but to grow cotyledons, is something Ive never heard of either! :canabis :)
