Is there any way to improve the taste of my smoke? I totally screwed up the cure on my last crop.

Not every plant that you grow will taste good and it is dependent on strain and even pheno. If you happen to have a specific pheno that is supposed to have taste and it doesn't, it can be for a couple of reasons. If you give your plants too much nutrients, it is common to lose your flavor. A sign of this can be burned leaf tips. If you dry and cure improperly then you can also lose your flavor. The way that I like to personally dry and cure my trees is to manicure the buds right after harvest. Then I hang them up on coat hangers and I want to see the outside of the buds getting dry to the touch within 7 days or so. This all depends on environment so if I need a fan then I use one. When the bud is first dry to the touch, it is still wet inside. Now I fill up paper bags from the grocery store and close the bag. That's how i start the sweating process. If he bud wets up too much then I open the bag until the buds on the top are slightly wet then I close it. When all the buds are dry, then it goes into jars and then needs to be burped daily until it is done.

Yes, flush your weed before harvesting , & slow dry it. You could leave all the leaves on it till it drys then take the trim off after its dry. That should slow down the drying.

Yea, IME I noticed that when I leave all the leaves on, which makes the plants dry a lot slower, the smell and taste are VASTLY improved. And always make sure they are dried before jarring, I have fucked up a lot of good batches rushing shit.

Hope all works out. Keep it green.

A cure can only do so much...

Try not to overfeed your plants during flower.... ever. Cannabis is absolutely fantastic at storing some elements for rainy days.

A plant overfed during the first 30 days of flower can sometimes be fed plain water for over a month and still be fairly healthy.... and crappy tasting at harvest, no matter what kind of cure is used. (Water cure doesn't count. *grin*)

I believe Rez and Gr3atfulH3ad are on the right track with cutting out calcium and nitrogen about 30-45 days before harvest. Straight GH Flora Bloom, no micro or grow for the last few weeks and then a week or two of plain water.

I LOVE the taste of cannabis.... I LOATH the taste of nutrients and other non-cannabis items on/in my cannabis. :D

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

Also try vaping it and not at too high of a temp that it actually burns, even fucking shitty brickweed can taste decent in the vape :joint:

Half of my first grow tastes like shit because I botched the drying, curing process and this has been my solution. In my vape it actually tastes good, put it in a bowl and it's choke city.

I was watching a program about wine tasting the other day. Among the various tastes and smells associated with wine, most of them very pleasant and appetizing, there's another - the smell of a cow patty. In essence, the smell of shit. It is sometimes described as earthy or mushroom-like, but at the end it all comes down to smelling like cow dung. IME, we can draw a parallel to Canna. Sometimes, an individual or two from a given strain will exhibit a similar smell. Curing over an extended period in optimal conditions can relive the smell of cow patty to some extent and replace it with an underlying smell commonly associated with that strain. Other times, it keeps smelling like crap, just a bit more mellow.
