My Sleazy cloner build

Heres my Sleasy Cloner 5000, it has 18 x 360° sprayers on a 1/2 pvc manifold. I used Turbo Cloner replacement plugs i got from the hydro shop.

Whats the best size cut to place in these? I've seen where the tops are rivht close to the plugs with about 3" sticking downpast the bottom of the plug. Also see people take larger cuts with success too.

How far past the bottom of the plug do you want the cut to be?

I've ran about 10 cycles through my diy cloner, very similar to yours. I always felt better about taking bigger cuttings where more of the stem is below the bottom of the puck and the leaves higher, but honestly, and knock on wood, I've had 90-95% success with ALL sizes of them. Even where 1/2" is below the puck and the leaves right above it (so 3" TOTAL). I've even had branches cut off that was squeezed inside the puck, no rots or disease. The only times where I had failure was when the water was questionable (not changing it out for weeks, starting to smell bad). When I added bleach (or pool shock in my case) those problems went away. I don't have a chiller on my cloner, so it gets 80+... it takes 1.5-2 weeks, but they are always perky and healthy looking the whole time.
