My Setup

I'm gonna be running two 400hps over a shower tub, one of the lights has an aircooled hood, the other does not. The ballasts are gonna be hidden outside of the bathroom which is roughly 280CF, but I'm only flowering over a 5x3 area. I have a 6"passive intake that I'm going to put a fan on, my basic question is will a 6" 454cfm blower exhausting outside the door be enough to keep temps in check ? Two 400's, one aircooled, enough cfm ? Thanks guys

I'd say you're good with that fan, even once you attach your 6" Phresh carbon filter or similar. I run a 410cfm fan on a 1000w, granted it's 100% aircooled, but yours will probably work.
Is it possible to get an aircooled hood for that other 400w? That would be great, but you can work something out.

So are you exhausting back into the area that your intake comes from? Not ideal, but that should work if the volume of air in the immediate area is large enough. I actually happen to be doing that right now. I wish I wasn't but it's about the only option.
Also, you are surely going to have to increase your passive intake area by at least 3x.

Good luck

Thanks for your help, itsallover, my intake is a six inch vent in the bathroom that's routed to the main air vent of the building I can't enlarge it .will a fan plus hopefully some negative pressure from the scrubber be enough?

after smoking a couple doobies I had a eureka moment and realized that I would be better off exhausting into the air duct in my bathroom, so I would be exhausting air into the main vent of my building. This would be better right ? So it would go

fresh air from outside bathroom door
into bathroom
through carbon filter
out exhaust vent into building vent

sound good ? will a 454cfm blower at about 60%, so say 250 cfm still be enough to create a negative pressure so the smell wont leak oouside the bathroom door ? Thanks again.
