My Second Grow - Starting with Clones This Time

This will be my second grow and I thought I should put this one in a diary. I am almost 5 weeks into flowering on my first grow. It was more of an experiment than anything. I did gain lots of knowledge and some nice clones from it though

Here Goes:
Everything is being done in my master bath area. We have a garden tub that we never use so I have placed a peice of plywood over it, and now it is used for my set up and som storage. I have built a grow box that sets on the tub. It is 4'wide x 30" deep x 66" tall. For ventilation I am using 2 bathroom exhaust fans. One 50 cfm fan, and one 70 cfm fan. The 70cfm fan is duct into my reflector with 6" flexible duct. People say that CFLs put off little heat, but when you use as many as I am, there is a bit of heat you need to worrie about. The exhaust of both fans are run together to the outside of the box. Seems to work well.
Here are a few pix of the grow box.

For lights I will be using 2- 40W T5 floro tubes, and 14- 26W CFLs. 8 of the CFLs are installed into a reflector that I built from sheet metal. The whole fixture works great. I will be using the 6500k spectrum for vegging, and the 2700k for flowering. Until I set up a small closet for my veg room, I was using the box for both veg and flower. I would just change all the lights out, and it was a pain in the ass

Since I now have the closet, thanks to my wife, I will just be using 4- 24" T12 6500k floro tubes to veg with. Its a very small closet. I have built an aeroponic unit that sits perfectly in the the closet. Its actually the first aero unit i built, I just put it back into use when my wife gave me the closet. The PVC is from scrap I had left over from the second unit i built. Dont laugh

I started my first grow with 11 plants from seed. 9 of them were males. Bad luck, wouldn't ya say? I took 8 clones from the 2 females when they were 14 days into flowering. I now have them in a dome inside my veg closet under 6500k tubes. The clones are 10 days old, and 4 of them have started growing roots, 2 of them had roots in 5 days. All the clones are in rapid rooters. I hope to have them in the cloner in 7 to 10 days. they will be placed in 2" net pots. They will grow in the pots for their entire life span. The 2" pots worked out pretty good for my first grow.

My little ladies are starting to take root real nicely. I have started weening them off of the high RH. This stage worries me. The last time I started to remove the dome, I killed everything I had. I didn't know about the dependency to the high RH while under the dome. So this time I am just opening it a little every day.

I have weened my clones out of the dome, and put them in the cloner. I don't just use this as a cloner, I will veg with this also. I am flowering 2 plants in a slightly differant version. They seem to work great from start to finish. Wish me luck, this truly my second attempt

Day 3 in the cloner/vegger/bloomer lol, and all is well. I have good root systems starting on all the clones. I am so impressed with these rapid rooters that I dont think I will be using rockwool cubes again. My little veg closet seems to be working out well also. It looks like I may have to let them veg in the closet for about 6 weeks until I can put them in the grow box to flower. One of my flowering females seems to be taking a lot longer to produce than the other one. There are some pics of my ladies in my second attempt thread. the link is in my signiture. Check them out :) Also, I cant get the link to my diary to work. Any ideas why, or what I need to do to get it to work?

Well these little girls have been in the cloner for 11 days now at 24/0. I will be buying another timer today and start vegging these babies. The plants are doing really well. I have 2 of them that didn't take root along with the rest of them but have started rooting really well. They are a bit smaller than the rest but I am sure they will catch up.
I was a lil short on cash and completely out of smoke, and my weed dude offered a 1/4 ounce of pineapple kush for on of the clones. Though i have never heard of pineapple kush, it was a bag of some very nice KB that did have a pineapple smell. Very good smoke. So I am down to 7 babies now lol. I had to do it, even though I felt like I had whored out my daughter lmao.

I haven't updated this for a while. I have went through a home inspection, and have had to shut everything down as much as I could. I kept my clones going though, and out of the 8 I started with, I kept the 4 best looking ones. They are now flowering and doing really well. The pics I am posting are a little over a week old, and the ladies are 12 days into flowering at that point. I will try to get some new pics up by tomorrow. I am getting ready to move, and will have to transport the ladies before they are done. Any ideas on how to do this ?

Update: 23 days into flowering, and things are going great. The ladies have started growing some nugs. These 4 clones seem to be producing twice as many buds as the plant they were taken from. Nutes are running at 1000ppm. The PH is around 6.0, and my rez temp is running right around 70*. Here are a few pics. Check them out.

When I moved last time, I drained my res, and threw the whole hydrosetup into a big card board box, plants and all. It was the last thing to get packed u[p and the first thing to get unpacked(besides the radio that is). Oh yeah, I just got done reading your other thread, and it looks like you are having a lot less trouble this time around. If you are still having any problems with root rot, you should give SM-90 a try. I run it in my res that stays, and haven't had any problems with it since I started using it(plus it makes the res water smell a little better too)
