My power sprayer

Thanks to backyardfarming for being one of the first to share the parts used.

I used to have the pump and battery housed in a separate 3.5 gallon pail with lid and on a hand truck for mobility but it kept tipping over on uneven ground so I'm doing this now. Still possible to strap on a hand truck.

If I had flat terrain I'd get a garden cart (or better yet ATV) and have a 25 gallon tank but my hillside doesn't allow for any of that.

Just some punched flat steel bar with some nuts bolts and washers to build a saddle. Need to secure the battery a little better but you get the idea.

Pump is a NorthStar NSQ series on-demand 12v 70psi 2.2gpm diaphragm pump, $70.

Battery is a 12v 22ah sealed AGM, $45.

Sprayer is the Turbo Flash sprayer, $30.

Need 2x 3/8" MPT barbed fittings and hose clamps as well.

I have used this battery many times last season doing 2-hour on&off (mostly on) foliar sessions going through 4x 6 gallon jug mixes without any issues dying.

I was debating between that setup you have and an Hudson atomizer for $50 more, since I already have a generator.

Which would you say is better?

The Hudson and similar low-end models are ones I've seen mixed reviews on. Doesn't seem to get consistently good reviews until about $5-600 range.

I've used them a handful of times. They're ok. I think I'd prefer not having a small tank attached, and would rather have a larger tank seperate that I could drag along. The main difference seems to be gpm. The fogger is 0.3-3 gpm, whereas the turbo is 5-15 gpm. That seems fast. Do you have to move pretty quickly to get everything covered without running out too soon? Does it still work ok for smaller plants?

Seems like 6 gallons lasts me give or take 20-30 minutes of spraying and maneuvering around my hilly terrain.

It does small plants with ease.

One nice feature is you can set it to a jet stream and it will fan out into a wider mist for reaching tops of 15'+ trees.
