What's up ICers. I'm somewhat new to this so plese bare with me. I've been growing some plants now for a while outside (maybe 2 months). Some of them are having that smell I recognized from previously growing indoors. It smells like weed! I mean I was perhaps expecting a more complex aroma from my plants (they are nowhere near flowering yet, it seems). So no matter what the origin do all marijuana plants have the same smell in preflower. As they flower will they retain that recognizable smell? Or perhaps they have a different smell when flowering... I've heard of so many different aromas described when some cannabis plants flower. Mine have a Jamaican, and Thai lineage... They're not pure though. Perhpas the smell might change in flowering. I bought them from hemcy by the way.

They definitely smell different...most Dutch strains contain indica genetics, though, and indicas have a characteristic funk. Sativas tend to be more floral and fruity...

ok, yeah the jamaican seem bushier than the thai. Although from the leaves I tend to think they all have retained their sativa characteristics. Will see when I smoke 'em. I did notice that floral smell a couple of days ago, but as they grow daily...
In any case, thanx for the input.

An yeah I guess it's a good thing they don't smell like ass...

Alot of plants smell different. The average cannabis plant smells like a skunk. Some smell like a friend of yours decided to shoot a skunk and tap it with his foot, then get in the truck and drive all over town looking for a way to get rid of it. Others are more fruity. All plants I have grown have a specific smell, and they keep it. It usually smells stronger, or more easily percieved when they are cut.

Your plants will smell like they do now, the more leaf mass you get the greater the smell. Rub one of your leaves and smell there, it will be like that but maybe more further into flower.

Ps dont get into a habbit of rubing the leaves
