My plants are dying-help help

Hello all who pass by this page. As you have probably gathered, I have what looks to be like a serious problem with the 2 plants I have flowering. Things were going well until a few days ago. I took a couple of overhead photos of them last night, however and, to me, they look like something is wrong. I am a total novice so don't have any idea why they are looking so rough?

Please please help if you can. I wil be really grateful for any advice on how to rescue this grow.

These first 3 are of a plant that's 6 weeks old and went on 12/12 7 days after germination. I can't understand what is happening to the top of the plant because the bud sites lower down look fine. It's just looking really rough around the top. The new leaves are looking awful up there! Any ideas as to what may be causing this? I did get over zealous with the lights for a while and singed the tips of some leaves. I have moved it up more now. Other than that, I don't have a clue! Is it Magnesium deficiency? Poor air circulation? During their 'night' I hang a towel over the door of the cab to prevent light leaks but leave the fan on. Could that be my problem? If so, I am gonna have trouble finding a suitable 'dark' space for them!!

Ok, this one is the same age but had 3 weeks veg before 12/12. It has had, therefore, 21 days 12/12. It was looking ok but those leaves coming out of and around the bud sites look really rough! Same conditions as the one above apply.

That's it. I am really worried now so please help if you can. I don't want to lose these plants after all of the time and effort I have put in.

Help!!

peace all

Not a lot of info just guessing here....heat stress?

I dunno m8? It would be better for me if it is cos it is easy to remedy! Is that what heat stress looks like?

cheers for showing an interest

Just taking a guess based off what you showed - the tips look hurt on most of the plant - that would lead me to overfert but if the bottoms are good & only the top is hurting then heatstress would be likely.

Try to keep it over 70 & under 80 at the tops - plus keep the bottom of the pot over 70 too - roots staying warm is very important too. Stuff gets locked out under 70 at the roots. Just throwing that out there cuz of the season.

Go check out the Infirmary

Yeah this is the type of thing you'd want to post in the infirmary section of the forum if this is the only purpose towards posting a thread. (healing plants I mean)

a few questions though, if you wouldn't mind answering...i have encountered this problem before and sort of remember what the conditions were like when it happened.
1) what size container are they in?
2) what type of soil?
3) how often and what do you feed them?
4) what is the light you're using and what temp is the air when it's on??
5) how often are you watering?
6) what is your setup (i.e how much/what space do you grow in, air circulation..etc.)
7) what is th ePH of the soil? ( you must acquire lithmus paper from the store in the pool section, flush the soil and gather the run off and measure it's ph.)

if you can answer these questions then the answer will be simple.

just to note, with soil I have found it to be a very useful tactic in fighting deficiency and over watering by allowing the pot to really dry out and let the leaves on the plant let me know when it's thirsty. plants are not like animals in that they can withstand dehydration to a much larger degree than animals do...it's their cell walls..cellulose is beautiful stuff. SO....let them babies dry out and then water the plant with twice the volume of the container. this will obviously create runoff from drainage, and this is also where poor soil drainage will bite you in the ass if you do this. for this reason I try to keep equal parts of perlite and sand in my mix, and drainage is never a problem. the runoff can be collected to measure the soil ph. It's a good idea to boil water and let it cool in the fridge some before watering as well, as this neutralizes the pH and sterlizes the water :D

anyway hope that helps with future grows...just ranting off stuff I picked up from reading various forums and growing various strains...I am a true connoisseur of the "growing" art. gotta love variety! happy growing and smoking man! God be with you! - i inhale

Looks like Copper deficiency, or heat damage. I tell you what though, those plants look fine. Don't worry so much, they really don't look that bad.

My suggested solutions would be to try a different liquid fertilizer. Ace hardware carriers Shultz brand ferts for cheap, and they keep my plants nice and healthy. And don't over due nutrients!! Every other day or watering.

I don't know but, my plant just looked like that. but it's not flowering stage like yours, but she started to show some buds and hairs. then her new shoots started to curl like yours. I gave her some fox farm big bloom, which is like supposedly micronutes and she started to recover. Good luck. try it out, might be just a lack in micronutes.

From what I can see...there's nothing wrong with your plants. That's what they DO when they start to flower. The leaves stop growing and the flowers come out. Keep doing what you're doing...you'll be fine... Later you'll start to see some small leaves growing between the flowers.

Don't panic!

You may have singed the tops when the light was too close...it "should" recover unless you burned the tips too bad. Don't worry, you'll get plenty of smoke from the bottom buds. Take it as a lesson learned.

Just wait until you're REALLY into the flowering and all your bottom leaves start turning yellow... By the time you harvest your girls could look like poodles with nothing but tufts around the buds...
