My maybe Blue Streak screw up

First I'm not saying anything bad about Blue Streaks, so calm down. I moved my males into another room under a fluorescent but the room was cold. I'm now five or six weeks into the grow and the pollen is very slow coming. Lots of balls but not enough seem to be opening. A couple of days ago I moved the males back to the same room under a 175 W HPS to try to get them to finish up. With so little time left will I be able to make seeds? Could I put the females in the cold room to slow them down and let the males catch up? One of the reasons I posted this is I never heard of anyone doing this particular screw up and I thought I'd warn you.

Well I moved the females into the colder room and the males into a warmer brighter room. Pollen is flowing now. If I don't have enough time to make seeds I'm not worried I bought several packs. I've got back up just have to run more. They look good. I really like the Blue Streaks. Building nice buds. I'm afraid to post pics.

Glad to hear things may be working out for you, vicious. Ya, there really is somethig about the bluestreak that is rather captivating. The girls just get more and more attractive as they frost up, and the scent is divine. I know that I will be enjoying growing and working with them for years to come. My samples indicate that it pretty effective smoke too.:joint: I was a little nervous about posting pics too, but then realized that any police are gonna have a pretty hard time getting the pics off the server here for evidence...would love to see your girls, and if you are getting any different phenos. Really not a lot out there about BS, and your pics would be welcomed. Good luck with your grow!

I'll probably post some pics. If people will let me ask stupid questions without too much harassment. I've got quite a few. I bought several packs of blue streaks.

good for you man. Since MD has now announced that there is no more Bluestreak, you have some valuable beans there. I cannot see why you would hesitate to ask stupid questions, at least in the af forum. From what I have seen, as long as you have made an effort to help yourself, any and all questions will be answered, and answered well. Maybe you will get a little jab or 2, but nothin too hurtful:joint: Lookin forward to seein more Bluestreak grows.

Alright here's a pic. I warn you. I suck as a photographer. Also I hadn't planned on posting so I just took this pic to remember what phenotypes went with what. This plant is probably 6 or 7 weeks. It's planted hempy style in 32oz. cups. The media it's planted in is either regular Hempy 3-1 perlite-vermiculite or I think this one is probably NAPA(the auto parts store) sweeping compound made of fired diamotacious earth. I heard about this from some bonsai growers. Lucas formula feed. I think the first two times I watered it I used 1/2 Lucas formula but mostly full Lucas. I haven't had any nute burn problems. My ph is about 6.0. Not because of any deep thought on my part. My tap water is about 7.0 ph and adding GH nutrients to make Lucas formula puts it at 6.0 and it seems to work so why change. My water is fairly low PPM out of the tap. I think if I remember correctly it was 80 or 90. So I don't use R.O. water although I have used the MR. Clean R.O. system for a low pressure aero. It doesn't seem to be worth the trouble in my case. This is probably my fattest plant with the most developed buds but it's not the tallest. I'll check my notes tomorrow as my posting spot and growing are different and let you know whether it's in NAPA or perlite. Also the exact age. It may be a little later. Remember I put it in the cold for a few days to slow it's growth. I'm not so sure it slowed it by much that I could tell. I'll also take several more pics. of my Blue Streaks to show the different types I have. There's not a huge difference. Most have the same structure. Differences in height and fullness of the buds could just be light differences. My grow area is ghetto right now. I've had to move things around several times so I can't claim any kind of consistency for each plant. I have a new cab that's just about finished.

Look at the buds on this. The leaves sparkle. I bet it's going to kick my ass! This had just been pollinated when the picture was taken. Hopefully it's not to late. I also pollinated the bottom buds about four days ago. The bottom was pollinated with pollen from an earlier male and the middle from a later male. The middle pollinated last right before taking the picture. I didn't pollinate the top. The buds on all of them are so sticky it gummed up my paint brush. They smell good but not super strong like the Diesel Ryders. Not sure about the smell yet have to think about how to describe. Question. If my paint brush is gummed up will the pollen still pollinate correctly? The ones I pollinated earlier the hairs are crinkled and I assume that they did pollinate.

If the pistils have withdrawn and shriveled, they are pollinated. I would think you could still effectively pollinate with a resinous brush...it only takes one pollen grain, and they are quite small. When they are real sticky like that, you may do better with tapping the brush loaded with pollen over the bud you want to pollinate to avoid. So,,,ya gonna smoke the brush?:joint: haha, sorry. I hate to waste good resin. Indeed they are frosty little beauts, arent they. Your girls look good, and familiar. This strain seems to be pretty stable, at least from the limited number I have grown, phenos look consistent. Thanks for the pics, good to see more of these babes :D

spread pollen on the lower buds, pick the top ones to smoke, and let the bottom ones mature until the seeds are done. The plant won't die.

I'm pollinating the bottom buds with a mix of two males that were both early. I'm pollinating the middle with a later male. Of course I'll leave the very top unpollinated. I took a bunch of pictures today. I going to post in anew thread as this one doesn't reflect that it's a bunch of Blue Streak pictures.
