My Grindhouse Adventures...

When i first came back into growing i had stumbled upon the Grindhouse section just to click on the next breeder because i saw nothing special names. What i didnt realize was the work or effort that Grindhouse and Steele as a breeder put in. After much research i chose The Prophet and Mob Boss.

These plants have treated me well and have exceeded my expectations in every way. They started putting on resin super early and didnt stop until they were cut. All of them starting to purple at the end, most likely from the blockhead side of the family.

First impressions

I have two different phenos of The Prophet, one of them being more tang tang(sativa pheno of Blockhead). It has golden nuggets that looks fluffy but is actually dense.


The trichs arent sticky but greasy/oily. Making charas after breaking up the bud leaves you with an oily hash that wreaks of kush and spice.

I thought my yield as terrible by just looking at the plant but it wasnt bad for a Bubba kush hybrid. It has a dominant bubblegum and hash aroma that just makes you want to keep sniffing it.

The Smoke

Now my favorite part about this stuff is how smooth it is. I grow in 100% organically with most of my nutrients already in the soil. I've only fertilied 4 times through out the whole grow. The bud burns to a nice clean white ash. The only thing you feel in your throat is the expansion of the smoke.

The taste is that of hash and just reminds me of a sweet version of kush. The high takes over your body instantly and moves up into your head leaving a nice blended high. The feeling is motivational but very calming. Some of my friends fall asleep because they say its so comfortable. The others just cant get over how relaxing it is. This pheno is probably gonna stick around bu i have to see which prophet i like better first.

Those are the genes. Blockhead has some sativa to its lineage. This pheno is more sativa leaning on the blockhead side. Which is close the to the original male used for pollination i believe. The plant had some structure like tang tang

I'm guessing thats why you think it looks hazy. The only characteristic of haze i can see is how the bud doesnt come together. But this nug is super dense unlike any sativas i've grown down here.

I havent tried the Mob Boss yet but im ecstatic too. It looks gorgeous and is by far the heaviest by at least 2.5x. It super frosty and the aromas coming are fuel and citrus. It should be nice.

Only a couple more days of drying until i can try the rest of the phenos.

Heres some pictures on the new Mob Boss. it smells just like mothballs, not the most pleasent.

However i did try the Mob boss Tang tang pheno and it taste exactly like the Prophet one. i'm guessing tang-Tang is very dominant in tasting like bubblegum. Reminds me of Blockhead specifically. I'd say the smoke report is the exact same as the above one.

I agree with you 100%. I find Steele to being very commited to the people growing his strains. I've been able to contact him no problems through out this whole grow.

Not only that but he really does some great breeding work. He helps bring best traits out of already elite buds.

I just bought a pack of Ultra Sonja that i'll be starting after a couple weeks of flowering this group. I just want to start making F2's and some of my own crosses.

I find the only true way to determine the test and aromas of a bud is to smoke joint. This is my expereince since the bud has finally reached a mature point to be tested for mother smoke qualities.

Well after a joint comparison test i found my keeper out of the Prophets. One of the Prophets which was labeled MC was the bubblegum Blockhead. The other was MA which is my keeper Bubba Kush.

Upon breaking the bud up i was l literally stuck with sticky fingers. I had to be careful rolling the joint. It was so sticky it held itself together i knew this would be good. Dry tasting the joints you could just pick up the straight kush flavor from the MA.

I started with MC and immediately noticed how smooth it was. The taste was faint and reminded me of some Blue Moon Rocks i had been smoking on recently. Very bubblegummy. Nothing out of the ordinary but the high came on very quickly. Very mental high but not what i'm after with these strains.

MA was so resinny it wouldn't even light initially. Once i got it going though, hott damnn. The smoke was super expansive to the point it hurt your throat. The flavor was very floral and hashy with a hint of spice leading to the burn in your throat. I couldn't help but keep drawing on the joint and said screw the taste test. I found my winner as i slowly finished the joint.

The plants are marked and if my friend doesn't want them they will be hitting the garbage bin. Next up is the Mob Bosses, even though i can already smell the winner. As i cut off a bud to get ready for the test, all i could smell is a pungent fuel type smell reminding me like mothballs. Very weird the way it just smells like mothballs to the point it burns the nostrils in good way. Its almost sulfuric like onions or garlic in that sense.

Time to see if i get some males now, i want F2's!!

Heres some pictures today from the manicuring of mob boss and making dry sift.


The bud was so resinny i had to clean both my scissors(main scissors and sugar scissors) half way through. Nice black oily resin. The dry sift is very light in color and pressed just after being rolled between my fingers. Dry sift is so much easier than bubble hash, icant go bck


The total yield off this one plant was 10.7g's which is a little more than what i've already yielded off three plants. This plant is my second keeper since it has some many great qualities. It smells like straight fuel with a hint of lemon, very distinct from other citrus type buds.
