My goals and resources. Any advice

This is my first grow in 11 years and much has changed. I am legal Medical Marijuana patient in the state of Maine. My first objective is to be completely legal. I can have 6 Flowering Plants. 12 in veg and unlimited seedlings and clones under 12" X 12" in size. I have 2 spaces that are approximately 10x8 in size. I have decided to start off with a 900w LED that I have seen some promising journals of. For now I'd rather not get into a LED vs HID debate. I will form an opinion after a couple grows. I am thinking of using either Hydrohut or Dr Jardin grow tents in 4x4 size. I am thinking a 2 tent set up or veg and flower. Clones and seedlings probably on a shelf under a flourescent. The Veg tent most likely a T5. My earlier grows were in soil and went quite well and I was not using the best seed stock. This time around I have access to some decent strains. Jillybean, NL, Blue Dream, OG Kush. Reason for the tents is I may have to move out of this area with little notice. My end goal is max yield in shortest time while not breaking any laws. So the question I have is SOG, SCROG or grow em big, DWC or soil ? Any advice on how to maximize with theses factors

I guess I didn't really mean SOG cuz that likely takes more than 6 plants but I mean basically going from clone right into flower or a very short veg cycle

DWC and SCROG or SOG strain dependent. that would be the fastest but not very easy to move. If you may have to move stick with dirt until your in a fixed place then go DWC and go big.

4x4 is not much of a footprint to go big so if your dead set on the tent go dirt and SCROG for max yield. Top out the NL and make several donkey dicks give them all 2x2 square and let it roll.

I like dwc but it would be a PITA to pick up and haul if it came down to it. let me know if you decide on DWC and i'll help as much as I can. There are a lot better than me for dirt.

Sounds like your informed and have a good idea so just jump in.
Take care and good luck

Thank you so much for the advice. The more I read my OP I am not sure it totally belongs in this thread and I apologize if that is the case. I want to clarify that the move would not be something that I have to move in day, but I may sell the house and be buying elsewhere. So I am now thinking instead of tents. I might use 4x8 sheets of rigid insulation to make a couple rooms inside of a 10x8 room if that makes sense. I am really leaning towards DWC because I hate the mess and labor of dirt. I do not not mind the topping off of reservoirs though. I understand that maybe DWC isn't the best choice for beginners but I have grown and done decent all be it a long time ago. So with the updated info and the desire to go with DWC. I would love for any advice you have. I have well water that has quite a bit of iron. So that is a concern. I am going to pick up a ppm meter today and see where the water is at. The lights I will have wil be a T5, a 900w LED and 4 ft flourescent shop lights if needed. I am thinking of making my DWC buckets out of 5 gallon buckets. An,y insight on layout of rooms, # of plants, and size to grow them would be awesome. Keeping in mind that I must stay legal 100%. Thank you again for your help and not treating me like I am an idiot.

DWC is fairly simple and even a first timer can get dramatic results.

You can use stand alone pots or tubs or recirculating system. RDWC the pots are connected to control by a pump feed and a return. This allows you to make all adjustments at the control so you don't have to bother with each pot. In stand alone units pH and tds will have to be adjusted independently.

6 pot system 3x5 foot print, 1kw hps

control 1/2 feed 1 1/2 return. I use PVC but you can use poly pipe your choice. If you use PVC you'll need either uniseals or bulkhead connectors to connect your pots to the control. Just make sure your return is atleast twice the size of your feed. the pump only has to be big enough to circulate the nutrient solution.

valve to drain
this nice to have for flush and fills. plumb ball valve into return line.

you also will need a top feed for your pots. I use a water farm style top feed ring. there are a 100 different ways of do this. these are cheap and easy.

mine are 8" net pot lids that fit most 3 or 5 gallon buckets
https://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=47552&pictureid=1110575

the water farm ring is just 1/2 pvc with a grove in 1 end large enough for a 3/8 barbed T about 3" long. black poly pipe 3/8 id x 1/2 od, 2each 3/8 barbed T's. the ring is the same poly pipe I use a hot ice pick to poke holes in it.

Air pump to water farm

Drill a small hole in the net pot to accept a 1/4 straight barb. run 1/4 black drip line from inside the net pot lid to the bottom 3/8 T. a 1/4 drip line 90 will slip right into the 3/8 T.

hook the straight barb on top of the net pot to an aquarium air pump and your running. The water self level's in the tube. The air pushes the water up in the feed tube and out the ring.

you can make these for about $12 a pot including buying the net pot.

the whole system runs 24/7.

You can use hydroton or lava rock for your pots. Just make sure its clean and pH inert. If not your ph will fluctuate.

Get a GOOD pH meter and tds meter. start nutes low 250 to 500 ppm for seedlings and fresh rooted clones and work up to 1000 ppm watching plants for stress. pH from 5.5 to 6.2 let it go. rez temp below 75 degrees best at 68 - 70.

This is just an over view if you need a step x step let me know.

There are ton of ways to do this just pick one and jump in.

Let me know if the pics didn't post.

just holler.

check out snypes threads also Heath Robinson has several threads. it's doable you just have to figure out which style and go for it.

First build your grow area get it right. air exchange, temps 68 lights off 78 lights on. humidity below %50, no light leaks ... then fill it up.

take care
