I'm sure few of you are sick of reading about newbs tryin new shit but hey you were one too at one point let me show off my stuff 2. Don't have many friends that know about my seceret garden so here it is. If I f'ed anything up please let me know open to sugestions 2012-05-14 21.43.16.jpg

Gave her good wetting the day I shaved her to the white meat and painted her blue with clone ex and may have been abit jumpy and gave her 7 ish ml. H20 this morning when we woke up any other pointers would help I know not to keep her soaking wet but moist. Just the way a lady should be lol.. would adding sm h20 to a bit of the gel for a watering help out with speeding things up a lil or would it retard it?

should work, though shaving it down to the cambium layer was unnecessary and might cause problems.

i've done it before successfully by simply wrapping rockwool around the stem and keeping it moist. simulates the stem being buried at that point which encourages root growth.

Also I posted a diffrent thread about adding a c02 gen to my clone box lil bit ago should b below this sum where but would adding one to this (c02 gen yeast sugar rig) to this closet help with producing clones more often?

Damn it thanx folic for the super quick response new at this game guess I shouldn't. Belive everything I read. Kinda semed logical to take it low so it would b eaiser for the root to shoot out dang it hope I didn't hurt her she's one of my fav moms...

Good tech bro. Ive read about this and seems you have it down.

Might i suggest, you wrap something dark around the ball to keep the light out. Roots do better in total darkness.

Ya might try doing it to the 1st branch off the main stem.
Looking at ya pic- that branch right above the ball
lookz like it would work great. Keep it close to the main stem and
the smaller branch can take the weight.

Great post bro- new idea's are what itz all about, right ?

Sup bro. Good advice.

Seems to me Shaving the stem on just one side is
a good way to get faster
root growth- I use that tech on my clones and they always
have rootz from the shave 1st.

Not ment as a fact just my exsperience.:woohoo:

Well thanx alien I was a bit jumpy to give it a shot I just kinda dove in grabed a mom and started shavin her down rookie move I know lol... guess I'm. Entitled to a few I am a rookie lol... seem to like this method a lot. Lookin forward to tryin the one side method.. and I thought about the darkness for the roots so I went super half hass and floped the grow dan paper over the sides.. pulled a few tubes and yeh kinda forgot to figure anything out for it... but thanx for reminding me to handel that lol

Welcome to the club bro. On my 1st try at growing-6 months into it = Rookie for sure..lol

How u going to water the cube?

I bet a syringe would work awesome.. lol

Did you add any rooting power/gel before the cube ? Just wondering.

Going to keep a eye on your grow as this is on my list of things to try.

Yep yep one of the lil medicene syringe from walmart thru a lil section I didn't wrap up completely left tboth ends almost open. The thought of covering kinda scares me I've allways been told roots need 02 also. And with the syringe its very useful cause I can keep track of exactly how much I'm givingher.. and yes alien I brushed on a bit of clone ex gel that's what the blueish hue to the stem is...

glad to see others experimenting,
I use to do air layering in the 70s,
csraped the bark, hit it with powdered rooting compound and I wrapped a big of sphagnum peat around the stem inside a gallon bag.
within 2 weeks I had roots everywhere

Always good to see people experimenting. Without it, we'd all still be growing with piss poor results. Experimentation is what leads to new and innovative techniques. Good job bro.

Well folks I'm back with good results so far mommas not dead no where near it I decided to cut the dark half ass cover I put on for a light block so the roots would be lil more comfy and saw great ness wasn't expecting this

But then I wanted to see if the roots were like that all that all the way down and was lil dissapointed to see the grow dan completly empty but a real good amount so far on the upper section. So note don't get carried away with the scraping. Well ill kep u updated on how she is going.. thanks for checking my progress on this attempt

Dang bro. I didnt know you scraped that much.. ouch...lol

Next time only scrape 1/2" long stipe on one side. Nevet all the way around or to the core.
You need to keep that cut wet.

Plants use their bark to carry water up from the soil.
If you cut all the way around, they cant drink. --As far As I know--
Im thinking the plant is sucking water from your cube to stay alive and that why you
have root on top so fast.

looks like you had a beaver in there...lol

Glad to hear she is doing good..

JJSCORPIO has a cloning stickey with the air layer technique.

tried it but didnt keep it moist enough so no roots formed but the stem got thicker.

want to try it in the future to have larger rooted clones to start with.

nice job

This is where you should have stopped. Just the 1st layer.
At least thats how much I scrape and it works awesome.

Yeh like I said I was a bit gun ho and lil buzzed so my logic was if they are scraping just a patch of roots ill shave this bitch all the way around lol and get massive roots lol well if noones done it b4 here is proof that it dose NOT work any better lol. That's the think outa the box my brain seems to do a lot... and yes I do keep it fairly moist not logged but wet..

Super stoked on how fast she showed roots tho 6 days for a patch the size of my finger nail so I'm sure they were there at day 5... amazing to me anyway allways took 12 15 days for the usual teq. I do belive ill have to try the cotton ball idea I seen in another thread and try lil bit smaller instead of the whole side I did with this mom... go big or go home rite? Had to see if it would work for me and I must say I'm a big fan this now.. I'm gona have to go trolling here today and fine the thread I found out about this and give sum props where they are due....
