Gets alot of acne, any suggestions? She's sleeping in a bit more than usual, but her diet has always been the same...

She's having a breakout now and it kind of sucks because she's such a sweet girl - and i know any girl overthinks about their
appearance...

Halp?

Without immediately looking to prescription drugs or treatments, and assuming her acne isn't insanely bad:

1.) Get more exercise -- this one is important
2.) Wash pillowcases and sheets more often than normal (3-4x a week) and/or change sleeping position -- I don't get acne really, but I get the occasional pimple when I sleep on my stomach, the oil from your face gets into the pillowcases
3.) Preventative maintenance on the ones that do appear -- I really like this Burt's Bees blemish stick, but it smells like you just poured a bottle of Jager on yourself for a few minutes until it dries...works great though, I pick up 5 at a time on ebay for like $20 with free shipping and my girl and I share them.

That one is really more of a spot touch-up product than a preventative one, but it is very helpful and works just as well (in my experience) as the Clearisils and whatnot

Hope it works out for her...again, I'm not really someone with "acne" persay, so my suggestions probably aren't helpful unless they are like me and just occasionally might see a stress pimple (or, in my case, usually an ingrown hair since I have a sweet beard). My sister, however, had horrible acne through high school that left her with pockmarks that are only now mostly healed at age 32, and those are suggestions I got from her that helped a lot.

I concur, Pro Active, saw it work miracles on 2 local girls up here.

extra sleep usually = depression, be sure to be aware of stress.

best of luck

not crackin' wise but just buy the pro active imo, it will either cure it 100% or do some good overall.

one of the gals up here was a young fair skinned redhead, her complexion would have been categorized as 'tragic'. it wasn't hard to see that she was a natural beauty but OMG, that acne, red, rough, pitted, and lots of it.

she started working @ the coffee shop in town and bought herself the pro active treatment, it didn't take long to see her skin improving. Now I've seen guys damn near break their necks trying to get a look at her, can't say enough, she's fucking stunning looking, could easily be modeling. her complexion is now 100% flawless, you never would guess she'd had such a bad case of acne before

I never had acne but going to say Pro Active too. There was a kid we called pepperoni pizza face in middle school that could have really benefited from today's acne medicines. I hope pepperoni face is okay and all grown up now. Kids can be mean.
Soda causes acne. Especially root beer.

May not be any help, but when my sister was suffering terrible acne as a teenager the only thing that stopped it was when the doctor recommended going on 'the pill'.
This cleared it in weeks.

I had bad acne as a kid and went to the doctor for treatment also. It usually consisted of a nurse doing dry ice and needle treatments. But, the doctor told me I needed a girlfriend on birth control. Well I made up the birth control part, but, he was basically telling me to go have sex. So, pro-active and lots of sex and her complexion should be clear in no time.

I think for girls the pill evens out their hormones a bit, and it's the hormones causing the acne..... But I'm no expert.

I agree about the "pill" causing acne, I have a friend here and she started getting bad after going on the pill. One thing you might want to look into is salt.

I think they can prescribe retinol (pure vitamin a) drops, as I remember and a type of antibiotic although I can't remember what type.

I knew a girl, she had a bit of acne, went to a naturopath, gave her some stuff

Suddenly she had these huge red blisters in her face, with puss coming out, all over her face

She finaly went on this pill, accutane for acne
Made by roche (pharm comp)

Its sort of a dangerous medication because it can make you suicidal
Also has a couple side effects, dry mouth
The acne stopped but she was left with a lot of deep scars on her face

You can see from far away that something is there, cause its discolored and deep

I wouldnt advise that pharm for your gf, just sharing

I would advise maybe some african black soap' make sure to buy quality, nubian heritage has a nice one

Maybe cleaning her face with rhassoul/ghassoul clay (readup)' has a way of attaching all the dirty stuff and cleaning it out

Also, i woud look into nutrition, i believe that can influence also, maybe even alot
Cut out sugar, white flours, processed (high sodium) food
High fructose syrup etc

Would encourage a non gmo diet

But honestly before spending too much cash into all of this (clay aint that expensive)

Lots of people are saying proactive, and if i had serious acne, i would try it
20$

If that dont work then you can get into the other stuff

I also believe in apple cider vinrgar being good for a lot of stuff

Some people say coconut oil is good for the face, blemishes

Pro-active.

A couple of my wife's cousin's had/have really bad acne. Pro-active works for them. Before pro-active they tried to just cover the shit up with makeup....PUKE.

The cure for my acne was pretty simple......Cheap Hotel soap....it dries shit outta your skin and would clear up my face within a couple days.....ended up "aquiring" a big old case of the tiny barsoap....lasted me thru my late teens.

Tetracyclin also works...but you get immune to it really quickly
