My Ghetto Closet.

heres a few shots of my Motarebels Berry Blaster at around 20 days. Blueberry Afghani x Cherry Bomb II.

I had a few nanners , so Im not sure of one, Ill keep my eye on it. [ None as of April!]

I vegged the bbs for about 6 weeks and the rest were close to 4 weeks. The BBs grow BIG and fast and just STOP growing about 3rd week in flowering. Atleast for me they did. They definitly resemble the classic xmas tree shape we know and love.



Got a few tester Killer Krystalls (Black Kat x Jim Dandy I beilve. All I know is that its 25% killer Queen). from Mota also at about 2 weeks.

THen my one lone SOL ad mix. Its just one big ass cola. Weird looking, very distinct. Dark green leaves, very white hairs, Almost freaky/strange looking leaves.

my extremely cheap ass ghetto set up.

lights
400W HPS 53,000 lumens
300W of CFL. Mixed spectrum. ranging from 2400K to 6500K

Soil, nutes, watering
Soil is a mix of perlite, cheap garden soil, Peat Moss, dolomite lime, and a lil wetting agent.

In veg I fed them Sweet and Liquid Karma, nothing else.
In flower I feed them Kelp at everywatering. And either a small dose of Fish emulsion every watering or doulbe dose of FE every other watering. I mix 1 dose of kelp with a double dose of Fish emulsion right til the 7th week. THen Ill water a lil more heavily for 2-3 weeks with no nutes.

air circulation
a 16'' fan in the corner blowing on lights and moving plants around, blowing out a opened closet door.
No where to cut to vent , so this will have to do.

pot size
some are in 5 gallon grow bags, and a few in 3 gallons, and 2 are in 7-8 gallon? rubbermaid thing.

the temps stay in the mid to low 80s in the daytime and I really couldnt tell you what they are at night. I assume they at around 60-65 at night since thats what I set the temp too in the house.

MIght be a few other things, cant remember.

As you can see, its very simple and extremly cheap! It seems to be doin well, so Lets see what I can do with it. hoping to have a large summer stash...

The second pic down,can you get the smaller clones/plants closer to the light withougt an harm and maybe lower them from the light as they stretch?

Makes me think of a growroom operated by a Kottonmouth King member I saw in one of their old DVD's but your's is a bit smaller.

They are in some shitty cheap Scotts or Shultz garden soil....( all I could find in the middle of Jan round here)

Jnugg. Thanks alot! they are all over in height. The berry blasters are huge and are streching like crazy. I flowered the rest pretty early and they too are streching pretty bad but are controlble. Wish I would have topped or did some LST with the BBs. I may have to add some CFLs becuase Im not sure I can lower the 400 without burning the big plants. Thats why im mad I didnt do some training to get a more even canopy.

Now that I think about it, I may find a way to just raise the plants rather then lower the light...

Small rubbermaid storage boxes work excellent and are strong enough to hold the wait of a 5 gallon bucket of fully saturated soil.I use rubbermaid boxes to raise and lower my plants as needed.Cinder blocks are another good idea too.

Do you use an exhuast fan and passive intake or do you just leave the closet door open and let the giant osscialating fan exhuast the air and what are the temps in the grow and the ambient and the temps 6" to 12" from the bulb?

Maybe next time slap a home made cool tube on that 400w HPS so you can really use that light to full potential.

I don't think you would have a problem with raising the plants closer to the light seeing as that monster plant is almost above the bulb and even though it is to the side of the light and footprint it still seems to be doing good.

thats just the only place I could put them. They are probably only 3 - 4 inches away from the top of the plant. I know they should be like an inch away. They look a lot further in that pic becuase of the angle it was taken. Its just for the plant in the corner. Ill be adding more. All I could think of to get more light to it. Next time I think im gonna be adding 150W HPS or something.

Im gonna be raising the smaller plants and lowering/adding more lights for the big ones. I wasnt planning on those plants getting as big as they did, but thats good imo, Just wanst prepared for it. So im still adjusting things daily.

yeah closer is better .. but i think you can put them in a different place also . you could put it down into the plants as side lighting to beef up them lower buds and just take off the reflectors so all the light would be used by the plants.

I sorta have the same problem some outgrew the others. I just turn the light at angle so that it is closer to the smaller ones but the light still reaches the sides and undersides of the tall plant. Then just keep your cfl over the tallest girl. I am doing this with my 400hps and a 250MH on top of the tall bitches that need to stop strectching. The 250 is positioned normally and the 400 at an angle so some red light reaches the tall ones. I had it reversed at first. here is a pic you can see the corner of the angled MH on the short girls. i will get a better shot later but stacking them will work just as good probably better and less stressful.Good Luck

thanks for the comments and ideas everyone. Today im gonna find a rubbermaid and stack up the the little plants. Althogh they seem to be doin fine with little stretch, but ill get em closer anyway. Those damn Berry Blasters I think are finally slowing down on the stretch. Those suckers are reaching for the sky.


And today POW! does it smell like a skunk factory in my closet today or what...
